After Several Near Misses, Tesla Plans Additional Constraints On Auto Pilot
oi-Rajkamal
By Rajkamal
Tesla recently had a software update for the Model S, which included an autonomous mode called Autopilot. This autonomous mode operates only under certain conditions and Tesla is looking to put constraints for the Autopilot system now, since many Tesla owners are using the autopilot incorrectly.
The Autopilot system is designed to be used on multilane highways, and most importantly, it requires the driver to keep his hands on the wheel. But many Tesla Model S owners have been using the Autopilot system on the wrong type of roads and with no hands on the steering wheel.
The videos show's how close the driver of the Model S gets to an oncoming vehicle. Near misses such as these have prompted Tesla to come up with constraints soon.
