Hyundai Launches Genesis Global Luxury Brand
Hyundai launches the Genesis brand as an all-new global luxury brand to take on several competitors. The goal is to deliver human-centered luxury through an array of luxury models. Their very first luxury model will be launched during December 2015.
Genesis plans on offering approximately six luxury models by 2020 and during the initial phase will be sold alongside Hyundai models; however, in future will be sold via Genesis showrooms.
New models under the Genesis brand will provide the highest standards of performance, design, and innovation. All products will be offered globally and will cater specifically to the luxury car market. Their offerings will include luxury sedans, saloons, coupes, and even SUV models.
Currently, Hyundai is studying the Indian market, and considering the Genesis brand. The luxury car market in India is flourishing; however, this segment is dominated by Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and BMW. New brands such as Volvo are also entering the market with their complete line-up.
Internationally, Genesis will have to compete with several established luxury car brands such as Acura, Cadillac, Infiniti, Lexus, and Lincoln brands.
The upcoming models from Genesis will be named with the prefix ‘G' and will be followed by a number. The word Genesis means beginning and is apt for the new luxury brand from Hyundai.
