We're all used to the user manual that accompanies our car. Normally a paperback with plenty of bulleted text and diagrams that we seldom look at, despite this book actually being one of the more important ‘accessories' of your car, so to speak. But you have not seen an owner's manual till you've seen this one.
What we're talking about is an exclusive glimpse at possibly the world's greatest car handbook ever, that of the McLaren F1 supercar, a legendary machine from the late 1990s. This automobile set the record for the world's fastest production car back then, reaching a speed of 231 mph (372 km/h) with the rev-limiter working, and an-even-more-mental 243 mph (391 km/h) with the limiter disconnected.
Make no mistake, you are truly privileged to get a look at the book, because only 106 issues were produced for each example of the F1. Design and graphic art enthusiasts will fall flat for it, no doubt, because the attention to detail and the fact that it is entirely illustrated by the hand of creator Mark Roberts, border on the obsessive-compulsive.
