Koenigsegg One:1 Looking To Set New Nürburgring Record

By Rajkamal

Koenigsegg, the Swedish supercar manufacturer has set its eyes on the Nurburgring to set a new record with the company's latest masterpiece, the Koenigsegg One:1.

Koenigsegg CEO Christian von Koenigsegg feels that setting a record at the Nurburgring is one of the ways to prove oneself in this part of the market, although he hates the need to set a record.

The company will first attempt the record with the Agera R, a car equipped with a 5.0L V8, twin turbo engine that produces 1,200 bhp and 1200 Nm of torque. The car also broke six world land speed records for a production car in 2011.

Koenigsegg test driver, Robert Serwanski claims that the car was touching 250 mph on the Nordschleife's Döttinger Höhe straightaway during testing, and the Agera R has less power than the One:1!

Powering the One:1 is the same 5.0-litre V8, twin turbo engine, but tweaked up to produce 1,341 bhp and a humungous 1371 Nm of torque!

At the moment, the Porsche 918 Spyder holda a timing of 6:57 around the Nurburgring. Serwanski strongly believes that the One:1 will easily beat the Porsche hypercar and set a new record for lapping the Nurburgring.
