Honda SP 125

The Honda SP 125 has been introduced in the Indian 125cc motorcycle segment. The new Honda SP 125 is offered with a host of features, sporty design and vibrant body graphics; making it good-looking motorcycle in the Indian market.

For a commuter-level motorcycle, the SP 125 offers a sporty design. This can be seen from the sharp-looking headlamp at the front, muscular fuel tank with extensions; adding to the sporty theme and the vibrant body graphics and paint schemes it is offered with.

The Honda SP 125 comes with a single-piece seat, offering the rider good amount of comfort. The seating position on the motorcycle is also upright, with forward set foot-pegs and a slightly raised handlebar; adding to the riding comfort.

The SP 125 is available in a range of vibrant paint schemes. This includes Striking Green, Imperial Red Metallic, Pearl Siren Blue and Matte Axis Grey Metallic.

The Honda SP 125 is the brand’s first BS-VI compliant motorcycle in the Indian market. The motorcycle is powered by a 124cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. It produces 10.7bhp at 7,500rpm and 10Nm of peak torque at 9,000rpm. The engine is further mated to a five-speed gearbox.

The Honda SP 125 is offered with a 11-litre fuel tank capacity. The SP 125 comes with the brand’s HET technology, along with eSP (enhanced Smart Power). This new technology on the SP 125 claims to offer 16% more mileage than the previous model. The Honda SP 125 is expected to return a mileage figure of around 65 to 70km/l. This gives it a total range of 770km on single tank of fuel.

The Honda SP 125 comes with a host of new technology and features, many of which are segment-firsts. Some of the new technology offered on the SP 125, this includes a friction reduction system for the engine, fuel-injection and silent start with the use of an ACG starter motor.

Other standard features on the Honda SP 125 also include a fully digital instrument console offering extended information such as distance-to-empty, average mileage, gear position and Eco indicator, service due indicator and real-time fuel efficiency.

The motorcycle also features first-in-segment engine start/stop, integrated headlamp beam & passing switch, CBS with equalizer, five-way adjustable rear suspension setup, sporty alloy wheels, chrome muffler cover and seal chain.

The suspension on the Honda SP 125 is through a set of conventional telescopic forks at the front and a twin shock absorber at the rear. Braking on the Honda SP 125 is through 130mm drum brakes at either end. The motorcycle also comes with a 240mm disc at the front on the higher-spec variant.
