Hyundai Breaks Record By Selling 13,000 Units of Creta In July
The monthly sales record was broken by the popular compact SUV from Hyundai, the Creta in the month of July 2016. A solid 50 percent growth for the Creta was not just in the domestic market but even the export have been impressive.
With total sales of 13,429 units, 7,981 formed the domestic sales while exports were an impressive 5,448 units in July. This is significant when you compare with the competitors in the market.
Its immediate rival, the recently launched Maruti Vitara Brezza sold 10,000 units in July, the Creta though was better in terms of sales. Hyundai exports the Creta to Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
Hyundai has crossed one lakh bookings of the Creta from the time of the launch back in June 2015. It even reached sales of 80,000 units in its 8 months tenure in the Indian market.
The Creta became a crowd favorite and some of its variants command a waiting period of over 6 months. Talking about the SUV and the reason for its surge in sales is due to various factors.
The aggressive looking exteriors to the bold SUV-like stance has helped capture the imagination of the compact SUV.
Hyundai Creta boasts of projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, six airbags, hill start assist controls among others.
The Hyundai Creta is powered with a choice of three engine options: 1.6-litre petrol, 1.6-litre diesel, and 1.4-litre diesel. While the diesel engine punches out 121bhp and 89bhp for the 1.6 and 1.4-litre engines respectively, the petrol churns out 128bhp.
The gearbox duties are handled by a 6-speed manual for all the three engines, and you get the option of an automatic 6-speed gearbox for the 1.6-litre petrol and diesel units.
