Petrol & Diesel To Attract Swachh Bharat Tax Across India

The Government of India recently introduced its Swachh Bharat Mission. The goal is to have a cleaner and better environment for everyone in the country. An all-new financial budget will be announced in February that will increase routes to fund the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Petrol and diesel customers will have to cough up an additional amount for the Swachh Bharat mission. The Indian Government is most likely to levy a 0.5 percent on fuels. An official announcement will be made soon once the new budget is accepted by all.

Swachh Bharat Mission began across the country back in October 2014. The mission includes scientific waste management and building of community, public, and household toilets. Rural and urban development is accounted for in the Swachh Bharat Mission.

For the mission to be successful the Indian Government needs Rs. 1.34 lakh crore for rural development. Urban area requires Rs. 62,010 crore under the Swachh Bharat Mission. Recently, Indian Government applied a 0.5 percent cess on taxable services under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
