Cars Developed At The Nurburgring Are Good On the Road — Here's Why
Remember when Top Gear's James May famously declared that cars developed at the Nürburgring were bad on the street? He even dissed the Aston Martin Virage for having a hard suspension for road use.
James May might not be wrong about the Virage, we can surely agree that he is wrong about the Nurburgring. Want proof? take a look at the video of the record-setting Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport S.
The thing about Nürburgring is that it is bumpy. To make a car go fast around the "ring", a car will need a rather soft suspension setup for optimum grip on four wheels.
The GTI Clubsport S used in the video was designed to set the front-wheel-drive record at the Nurburgring, but as a result, it's perfectly suited for rough country roads as well.
