Volkswagen Vento Cup 2015 Driver Selection Comes To An End
German automobile manufacturer, Volkswagen wants to promote motorsports in India. They have for 2015 decided to introduce the Vento Cup for Indian motorsport enthusiasts.
Previously the German manufacturer provided Polo Cup as their platform for Indian racers. Volkswagen India opted to provide more action and thrills with their Vento vehicles for racing.
Vento Cup 2015 witnessed a grand outcome with over 550 participants. Volkswagen further segregated its contestants list and only 67 made it to final selections.
Final selection was held in Pune with a Karting event for the participants. Only 16 were selected to compete in this years Vento Cup, while six drivers from Polo Cup were also selected.
The racers will have to commence work with pre-season tests as well as a fitness camp. They will have to be fit both physically as well as mentally as racing is a highly demanding sport.
Here is the race schedule for 2015 Vento Cup in India:
- Round One: Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore on 3rd to 5th July.
- Round Two: Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore on 7th to 9th July.
- Round Three: Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida on 2nd to 4th October.
- Round Four: Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida on 27th to 29th November.
