Audi Admits Cheating Emission Tests; More Than 2 Million Cars Affected
Audi has admitted cheating emission tests as well, with more than 2 million affected. The German luxury carmaker has used the same software as Volkswagen did.
1.42 million Cars sold in Europe used this software. The Audi range that cheated emission tests are the A1, A3, A4, A5, A6, TT, Q3 and the Q5. The news emerged after Martin Winterkorn, the ex CEO of Volkswagen group was investigated.

Other carmakers such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz have set a distance between themselves and Volkswagen claiming their cars meet emission norms without cheating and the cars meet requirements in every country, worldwide.
Porsche, Bentley and Lamborghini—Volkswagen owned brands have also claimed that their cars are not rigged and they conduct tests separately.
A total of 2.1 million Audi models have used the software to cheat the emission tests.
