All-Electric Venom GT Not Impossible Says, John Hennessey
Tesla seems to be the new target for carmakers around the world regarding electric performance, and the latest to try an experiment with performance oriented car is John Hennessey, the man behind the Venom GT.
In an interview with Top Gear Magazine at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA), John Hennessey said that an all-electric version of the Hennessey Venom GT is not impossible.
Hennessey said, "We're considering doing something with electricity. We've looked at it, and I've got friends in that field, I'm just waiting for the batteries to become lighter and have more capacity. But I don't think that's far away."
Hennessey says that Ferrari, Porsche, and McLaren have done a good job with hybrids, but he is personally not interested in making a Hybrid Venom. He says he would build a Venom either with an engine or straight electric.
The Texas-based tuner had brought a tuned Venom GT to SEMA, that is capable of delivering 1,451bhp, and reaching a theoretical top speed of 280mph (450km/h).
