Ferrari & Maserati Contemplating India Comeback
More and more manufacturers are entering in India, as they discover its potential. There are several luxury automobile manufacturers doing well in India. There are instances where manufacturers have brought to India limited number of vehicles and have been surprised by the overwhelming response they receive.
Recently Rolls-Royce introduced its super luxurious Ghost Series II model in India at INR 4,50,00,000 ex-showroom for its base model. The German trio Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz have been doing achieving decent sales and have introduced their flagships in India as well.
Now Italian supercar manufacturer Ferrari and Maserati are contemplating returning to India. The move is being pushed ahead by their parent company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Group. They believe there is great potential for both brands in India.

The Italian duo plan to set up their marketing and sales team in India as soon as they can. They will then work on creating dealerships in most metro cities of India for their super rich clientele. Ferrari and Maserati's goal is to commence selling of its vehicles from 2015 itself.
Fiat Chrysler Automobile Group will soon be making an official announcement. Both Ferrari and Maserati believe there is great potential in India. The super rich segment in the country is growing rapidly and there will be several interested buyers.
The Italian super car maker Ferrari will bring to India its La Ferrari, FF, Berlinetta, California T convertible, 458 Italia and Spider. These vehicles cost upwards of INR 3,50,00,000 post taxes. Currently the Indian Government levies a 170 percent tax on luxury cars that come to India as built units.
