The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is the flagship model from the Indian car manufacturer. The Ciaz sedan was recently updated in the Indian market, with a number of cosmetic and equipment upgrades compared to the previous model. The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz comes with a bold new design, this includes a reworked grille with chrome surrounds.The front grille are now flanked on either side by updated LED projector headlamps and DRLs. Maruti Suzuki has also updated the front bumper which now houses the fog lamps. The bumper also comes with a larger air intake, along with chrome surrounds on the fog lamps. The side and rear profiles of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz remain almost unchanged. The Ciaz sedan now comes with 16-inch alloy wheels while the rear receives an updated set of wrap-around LED tail lights.  The sedan also comes with an updated set of rear bumpers with chrome-surrounded reflectors on either end. Moving to the inside, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz continues to offer a similar cabin. The sedan does however come with a new 4.2-inch TFT screen on the instrument cluster and faux wood inserts to add to the premium feel of the sedan.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz comes powered by two new engines: a 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine. The new 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine churns out 104bhp and 138Nm of torque. The engine is further mated to either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. The 1.5-litre DDiS225 diesel unit, on the other hand produces 94bhp and 225Nm of torque. The new diesel engine comes mated to Maruti Suzuki`s new six-speed manual transmission. Maruti Suzuki continues to offer the old tried and tested 1.3-litre DDiS200 diesel engine on the CIaz as well. However, this engine is expected to be discontinued soon. The old 1.3-litre diesel unit puts out 88bhp and 200Nm of torque; mated to a single five-speed manual gearbox. The new engines offer a much refined and smoother driving experience compared to the previous versions. The engines are better tuned to produce more power, something clearly noticeable while driving. The Ciaz also comes with better NVH levels, with little to no noise entering the cabin. The power delivery is linear, with good initial and mid-range. The highway runs are also a breeze with good amount of power even at slightly higher revs. The car is also stable at high speeds, offering enough confidence to even throw the car around corners.

The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is currently available in three engine variants. With a fuel tank capacity of 43-litres, the petrol manual delivers 21.56km/l and petrol-automatic returns 20.28km/l. The new 1.5-litre diesel produces fuel efficiency figures of an impressive 26.82km/l. All fuel efficiency figures are ARAI-certified figures as confirmed by the Maruti Suzuki website.

Maruti Suzuki has introduced a host of new and additional features and equipments along with the new Ciaz update. The new Maruti Suzuki Ciaz sedan comes with features including LED projector headlamps, LED rear combination lamps, leather seats and steering upholstery, intelligent key (push start/stop), electrically adjustable & foldable ORVMs, cruise control, keyless entry, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, voice command system and steering-mounted audio controls. Safety features on the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz: airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking camera, seat-belt reminders, high-speed warning system, anti-theft system, day/night IRVM, electronic stability program and hill-hold.
