The Hyundai Verna is one of the popular offerings in the executive sedan segment of the Indian market. The Verna recently received a major facelift in India and comes with a host of features, cosmetic changes and equipment. The engine also comes with a set of brand new BS6 compliant engines as well. Starting off with its design, the new Hyundai Verna follows the brand’s ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ theme. The new sedan now features a large chrome-mesh grille at the front. This is flanked on either side by a pair of newly designed swept back LED projector headlamps. The front bumpers have also been updated, featuring the fog lamps in triangular housings at either end.  Moving to the side profile, the new Hyundai Verna features a clean and simple design. The standout features on the side profile are the stylish 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and the shoulder line running across the length of the sedan and ending at the tail lamps. The rear profile also carries forward the same simplistic design. The rear comes with wrap-around LED tail lamps, along with a new rear bumper and a redesigned boot-lid. Inside, the new Hyundai Verna comes with a premium dual-tone interior with a host of features and equipment. The dashboard is well laid-out and features soft-touch materials all around. The turbo-variant comes with a blacked-out cabin with red contrast-stitching; adding  sporty appeal to its interiors.

The new Hyundai Verna facelift now comes with a completely new set of engines, both petrol and diesel. The company has discontinued the old 1.6 and 1.4-litre engine offerings.  The sedan now comes powered by a 1.5-litre petrol, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine offering. All three engines are BS6-compliant as well. The 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine offerings produce 115bhp and 144Nm and 250Nm of torque, respectively. Both engines are mated either to a standard six-speed manual gearbox or an optional six-speed automatic transmission. The smaller 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit, on the other hand, produces a slightly better power output of 118bhp and 172Nm of peak torque. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine comes mated to a standard seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, without the option of a manual transmission.

The new Hyundai Verna comes in various different variants, trims and powertrain options. The sedan claims to offer a mileage range between 17km/l to 19km/l on the two petrol engine options. The diesel engine, on the other hand, claims to offer better fuel efficiency figures in the range of around 23km/l.

Along with the host of cosmetic updates, Hyundai has also added a number of features and equipment on the new Verna facelift. Some of the key features and equipment on the 2020 Hyundai Verna include full-LED headlamps, LED DRLs, LED taillights, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, shark-fin antenna, premium upholstery and soft-touch dashboard, eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Hyundai’s Blue Link connectivity technology, ventilated seats, wireless charging, automatic climate control, fully-digital instrument cluster, steering-mounted controls, cruise control, paddle-shifters (only on turbo variant), auto-dimming IRVM, electrically-foldable and adjustable IRVMs, electric sunroof; among others. Safety features on the new Hyundai Verna: ABS with EBD, six airbags, hill-start assist, vehicle stability management, headlamp escort function, speed-sensing auto door lock, impact-sensing auto door unlock, emergency stop signal, front and rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat anchor points and many more.
