The Revolt RV400 is one of the few electric motorcycles in the Indian EV space. The motorcycle does have polarising design and styling. Some elements of the electric motorcycle look great while some other elements could do with more attention to detail. Up front is an LED headlamp with LED DRLs. The upside-down fork looks great too. The alloy wheels feature a simple and straightforward design.
When viewed from the side, the first element that will grab one’s attention is the large rear sprocket. It is a street/naked motorcycle with plastic paneling to cover the battery pack. Some parts of the electric motor are left exposed, which makes the motorcycle look good.
The Revolt RV400 is powered by a 3.24kWh lithium-ion battery pack that sends juice to a motor that produces 3kW. Acceleration from 0-40km/h takes just 3.6 seconds and the motorcycle will go on to touch a top speed of 85km/h.
The Revolt RV400 boasts a claimed range of 150 kilometres on a fully charged battery pack. However, this is only in the Eco mode which has a top speed of 45km/h. In the Sports mode which allows the motorcycle to reach its top speed, the RV400 has a claimed range of around 80 kilometres. Charging the battery from 0-75 percent takes 3 hours and charging it from 0-100 percent takes around 4.5 hours.
The Revolt RV400 features a digital instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity. The motorcycle was also the first in the Indian market to use artificial sounds with the motorcycle. It comes with four different motorcycle sounds as standard. The electric motorcycle also features a combi-brake system, LED lighting, etc.
The electric motorcycle market in India is at a nascent stage. The electric motorcycles currently on sale in India are not at the peak of technology yet, and the number of options to choose from in this segment is less. However, Revolt brought lots of revolutionary tech to the market at a time when there were no options. The RV400 is the flagship model from Revolt and it is great to see the motorcycle do well in India.
