The Xoom is Hero's answer to the Honda Dio and the nation's largest two-wheeler manufacturer has done its level best to make the new 110cc scooter as possible in terms of looks. At the front, the new Hero Xoom sports a dual-tone design for the front apron. The blinkers can be found on the handlebars while the sharp headlamp sits on the lower section of the front apron. The front lighting unit features a LED projector headlamp along with a stylised H-shaped position lamp which gives the Xoom a rather cool signature lighting style. This is repeated at the rear in the form of the LED taillight that shows off the same stylised H-shaped lighting signature. The Hero Xoom is the first scooter in the segment to feature cornering lights which illuminate the road ahead when the rider starts to turn either left or right. This should prove to be rather useful in low visibility conditions and during night riding. These cornering lights are fitted to the lower section of the front apron that connects to the floorboard and is finished in grey. The sides of the Honda Xoom feature aerodynamic body panels that enhance the sporty looks of the 110cc scooter. The grab handle extends quite a bit towards the front and the new Xoom sports a chunky exhaust. The Hero Xoom rides on diamond-cut alloy wheels and gets a disc brake at the front (only in the ZX variant) with the rear tyre quite wider than the one found on other scooters in the segment. The seat material varies depending on the variant and the digital screen is illuminated in either orange (VX) or Blue (ZX) with the latter also getting Bluetooth connectivity which allows for features like call and alerts, caller ID and phone battery levels storage on both the front apron and under the seat, the latter of which is illuminated. The Hero Xoom is offered in Polestar Blue, Matt Abrax Orange, Sports Red, Pearl Silver White and Black.
The Hero Xoom is powered by a 110.9cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that features fuel injection. The Xoom's engine produces 8.05bhp at 7,250rpm and 8.7Nm of torque at 5,750rpm. The Xoom's engine is paired with a CVT automatic gearbox. The Hero Xoom sports a telescopic fork at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. The Xoom rides on 12-inch wheels shod with 90/90-12(front) and 100/80 (rear) tyres from MRF. Braking duties are taken care of by a 190mm disc at the front (ZX only) and a 130mm drum at the rear.
Hero has not released the official mileage figures for the all-new Xoom scooter. However, the Xoom's comes fitted with Hero's i3s start/stop tech that helps improve efficiency and we expect the 110cc scooter to return a mileage of around 40 to 45km/l which should allow riders to travel for over 200kms on a full tank (5.2-litres) of petrol.
The Hero Xoom comes packed with features like projector headlamps, segment-first cornering lights, a fully digital display with Bluetooth connectivity, a USB charging port and illuminated under-seat storage.
