BMW i7 Achieves 1,000 Unit Sales In India, Highlighting Growing Demand For Luxury EVs
The luxury electric sedan BMW i7 has achieved a new milestone in India, surpassing 1,000 units in sales. According to an Economic Times Auto report, the flagship EV is playing a crucial role in strengthening BMW's presence in the premium electric vehicle segment and has now crossed the three-digit sales mark in the Indian market.
BMW i7 Luxury EV sedan Sales Milestone
The BMW i7 is the brand's flagship electric offering and the most premium EV sedan in its Indian lineup. It is targeted at buyers who seek luxury paired with sustainability and cutting-edge technology. As India's EV market continues to expand, the i7's success reflects a gradual shift of premium customers towards electric vehicles.

BMW brings the i7 to India in limited numbers, yet customer response has remained strong and has now achieved 1,000 unit sales in the Indian market. The luxury EV segment is now witnessing increasing competition among brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and BMW.
The i7 is based on the BMW 7 Series platform and is also available in M performance variants. The standard fully electric version produces 449hp, offers a claimed range of 603 km, and has a top speed of 240 km/h. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. The i7 M variant delivers significantly higher performance, producing up to 650 hp. It claims a maximum range of 560 km and can reach a top speed of 250 km/h.

Key highlights of the BMW i7 include a curved display, a wood-finished dashboard, ambient lighting, a premium centre console, and rear-seat entertainment featuring a massive 31.2-inch BMW Theatre Screen integrated with Amazon Fire TV. Other standout features include the Sky Lounge panoramic sunroof with LED lighting and lounge-style rear seating, giving a first-class passenger experience.
Additional premium features include advanced driving and parking assistance systems, BMW Digital Key Plus, BMW Live Cockpit, and a 4D Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System with 36 speakers. Rear passengers also feature a 5.5-inch touchscreen panel on the doors for controlling infotainment, climate functions, seat settings, and more.
The BMW i7 electric luxury sedan is priced at ₹2.05 crore (ex-showroom). Its key rivals in India include the Mercedes-Benz EQS, Audi e-tron GT, and the Porsche Taycan. BMW will also add a new logo to its entire lineup starting in February 2026.
