The MG Hector is the first product from the Chinese-owned British brand. The MG Hector is positioned in the mid-size SUV segment in the Indian market. The Hector comes with a massive road presence, large dimensions and comes packed with features.
Upfront, the MG Hector comes with a massive chrome grille with the ‘MG’ Logo at its centre. Flanking the grille on either side are dual-headlamp clusters, with the LD DRLs on top and the main LED light cluster down on the bumpers. The LED DRLs also double up as the dynamic turn indicators for the SUV. The front bumper also houses scuff plates and and a large air-intake at the centre as well.
Moving to the side, the MG Hector comes with a clean design. It does offer sharp shoulder lines and creases, adding to the sporty theme of the SUV. The door handles are finished in chrome and the SUV also comes with large flared wheel arches, housing the 17-inch dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels.The rear profile also features LED wrap-around tail lights which get integrated dynamic LED turn indicators. The tail lights are connected at the centre; there is also a thin strip of chrome along the width of the bonnet, all of which adds to the premium character of the SUV.
Inside, the MG Hector is offered with an eye-catching 10.4-inch vertically-stacked touchscreen infotainment system; controlling all the functionalities on the inside, including the infotainment, navigations, smartphone connectivity, climate controls and the MG’s I-Smart technology as well. The display also comes with an e-sim embedded inside, providing the Hector, internet connection on the go.
The MG Hector is available with a choice of two engine options: 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine producing 140bhp and 250Nm of torque and a 2.0-litre diesel unit churning out 173bhp and 350Nm of torque. Both engine come mated to a standard six-speed manual gearbox, with the petrol receiving the additional seven-speed DCT automatic transmission.
The petrol engine is also available with a 48V mild-hybrid version. This provides the engine with the additional torque while also improving the fuel efficiency of the SUV as well.
The MG Hector petrol comes with a fuel efficiency of 14.16km/l for the manual; 13.96km/l for the automatic and 15.81km/l for the mild-hybrid variant. The diesel version of the MG Hector returns a mileage of 17.41km/l from its 2.0-litre engine. The Hector is further offered with a fuel tank capacity of 60-litres as well.
The MG Hector comes packed with features and safety equipment.
