The Skoda Karoq is the latest five-seater SUV offering from the brand and is positioned below the flagship Kodiaq in the Indian market. The all-new Skoda Karoq follows the same sharp and muscular design language of the brand, while coming packed with features and equipment as well.
Starting off with the front design, the Skoda Karoq comes with the brand’s signature butterfly grille upfront. The grille comes surrounded by a thin strip of chrome all around. The front grille is flanked on either side by a pair of LED projector headlamps with a thin LED DRL strip, running along the bottom of the unit.
The LED fog lamp and cornering lights are positioned just below the main headlamp unit. The front bumper is made up entirely of a large air intake, with black-cladding at the bottom.
Moving to the side, the Skoda Karoq carries forward the sharp and muscular theme with flared wheel arches and a strong shoulder line, running across the length of the SUV. The Karoq comes with a stylish set of 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, chrome strip surrounding the window and silver roof rails, all of which add to the character of the SUV.
The rear of the Karoq is mainly characterised by the C-shaped LED taillights and the ‘SKODA’ lettering on the boot-lid. The rear bumper receives reflectors at either end, along with a scuff plate at the bottom.
Inside, the Skoda Karoq offers a well laid out dashboard with a dual-tone cabin. The Skoda Karoq comes with soft-touch premium materials all around. The cabin comes with a host of features and equipment and is spacious with a sense of openness thanks to the large windows and the sunroof.
The Skoda Karoq comes with a single engine option. This includes a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. The 2.0-litre TSI petrol has been borrowed from the Volkswagen Group and produces 150bhp and 250Nm of peak torque on the Karoq SUV. The engine is further mated to a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission unit.
Skoda claims that the 2.0-litre TSI unit offers the best combination of performance, refinement and efficiency. The Skoda Karoq claims a WLTP rated mileage of just under 14.5km/l.
