The Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 is the elder sibling of the Alto in the Indian market. The Alto K10 has the same underpinnings as the Alto 800 and also shares some of the components as well. The Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 continues to offer a simple and clean design. The car has almost similar dimensions to its smaller sibling, however, the Alto K10 is 150mm longer. Width and height remain unchanged. The hatchback has a bold front profile with chrome grille up front, sweptback headlamps, front body-coloured bumpers with integrated fog lamps with a black housing. The sides of the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 also comes with sharp lines adding to the character of the small hatchback. The rear also comes with a set of large tail lights and boot lid with chrome accents at the end.

The Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 comes powered by larger 1.0-litre petrol engine producing slightly higher power output than its sibling. Maruti Suzuki also offers the Alto K10 in a CNG variant as well. The Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 is powered by a 998cc three-cylinder petrol engine churning out 67bhp and 90Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual manual as well as an automatic gearbox as well. Maruti Suzuki has equipped the Alto K10 with its Auto Gear Shift (AGS) technology, making it the most affordable automatic car on sale. Apart from the petrol engine, Maruti Suzuki also offers the K10 with a CNG technology as well. This CNG variant of the Alto K10 churns out 58bhp and 90Nm of torque and comes mated to the same gearbox options as the petrol variants. Both variants of the hatchback are easy to drive. There is enough torque available for daily city runs and overtakes. The car steering is on the heavier side and a bit of play, making the driver work hard especially in tight corners. The Alto K10 is stable at high speeds, although there are vibrations which doesn`t allow the driver push too hard. Ground clearance isn`t the best, however, it does manage to easily go over road undulations without stress.

The Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 similar to its smaller sibling comes with a fuel tank capacity of 35-litres. Maruti Suzuki claims an ARAI-Certified fuel efficiency figure of 23.95km/l for the petrol and petrol-AGS variants. The CNG variant of the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 returns a mileage of 32.26kg/km.

The Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 comes with a host of basic features and equipment. Some of these features include body-coloured bumpers, power windows, keyless entry, vanity mirrors, cabin lights, cup holders, power steering, rear parcel tray, internally-adjustable ORVMs and central door locking.
