Mahindra Bolero Exterior And Interior Design

The Mahindra Bolero is a rugged SUV, which is extremely popular in the Indian market. The SUV has been on sale in the country for a long time and has undergone a number of changes and updates. In terms of design, the Mahindra Bolero comes with a rugged and solid look, with squarish styling all around. This includes the flat-bonnet, large grille at the front with vertical slats, large halogen headlamps at either end with integrated turn signal indicators. The Bolero also features a large front bumper with a central air intake and fog lamps at either end. Moving to the side profile, the Mahindra Bolero continues to feature a rugged design and styling. The SUV comes with large wheel arches, a side-step for ease of getting in and out and a strip of black-cladding running across the length of the SUV. The SUV also comes with body graphics as well, adding a bit of style to an otherwise functional design. The rear profile also carries forward the same functional design. It comes with a vertically-stacked taillights at either end and a full-size spare wheel, mounted on the side-ways opening tailgate. Inside as well, the Mahindra Bolero comes with a functional design. It features a well-laid out cabin with all the basic features and equipment available.

Mahindra Bolero Engine And Performance

The Mahindra Bolero is a work-horse SUV offering from the brand in the Indian market. It comes powered by a BS6-compliant 1.5-litre mHawk75 diesel engine. It produces 75bhp at 3,600rpm and 210Nm of peak torque at 1,600 - 2,200rpm and is mated to a standard five-speed gearbox.

Mahindra Bolero Fuel Efficiency

The Mahindra Bolero has always been a well-mannered SUV, returning decent mileage figures even from its old 2.5-litre BS4 engine. The new 1.5-litre diesel unit is said to offer improved fuel economy figures of around 18km/l, which with its 60-litre tank capacity provides excellent driving range.

Mahindra Bolero Important Features

The Mahindra Bolero has always been a functional and rugged SUV, with a go-anywhere attitude. The BS6-update has given the SUV a number of new updates, including a host of features and equipment as well. Some of the key features on the new Mahindra Bolero include body-coloured ORVMs, flip key, chrome bezels on the front grille, keyless entry, AC with heater, power windows, central locking, rear wipers and washer, power steering, static bending headlamps and engine start/stop; among a host of others. In terms of safety features on the Mahindra Bolero, the SUV comes equipped with airbags, ABS, co-driver occupant detection system, seat-belt reminder, reverse parking sensors and engine immobiliser to name a few.

Mahindra Bolero Verdict

The Mahindra Bolero has been a popular SUV in the Indian market, known for its practicality and functionality. The SUV is a bare-bones utility vehicle, making it an extremely capable model both on and off-road. However, we do think the Mahindra Bolero is in desperate need of a generation change as it does feel outdated compared to its rivals.
