The Hyundai Aura is the latest compact-sedan offering from the brand in the Indian market. The new Hyundai Aura is based on the brand’s Grand i10 NIOS hatchback and comes with the same engine options and features, although there are a few minor differences between them. In terms of the design, the Hyundai Aura retains a similar front fascia as the NIOS. It features the same signature cascading grille, flanked on either side by projector headlamps. However, the Aura now comes with two boomerang-shaped LED DRLs on either ends of the grille rather than one. The side profiles of the Hyundai Aura comes with stylishly designed alloy wheels at either end. The compact-sedan also sports a blacked-out C-pillar which gives it a floating roof like design. The rear profile of the Aura looks sporty with the wrap-around taillights and the ‘Aura’ badging at the centre of the boot-lid. Moving inside, the Hyundai Aura features a similar cabin to the i10 Grand NIOS. This includes the dashboard layout, infotainment system and the instrument cluster as well. Overall, the Hyundai Aura does offer a premium-looking interiors with good fit and finish all around.

The Hyundai Aura is powered by three engine options, two petrol and one diesel. This includes a 1.2-litre petrol producing 85bhp and 113Nm of peak torque and a 1.2-litre diesel unit, churning out 75bhp and 190Nm of peak torque. There is also a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit borrowed from the Venue. This GDi engine has, however, been de-tuned to produce 100bhp and 172Nm of peak torque. All three engines come mated to a five-speed manual gearbox as standard. Hyundai also offers a five-speed AMT gearbox with the 1.2-litre petrol and diesel engine options as well. 

The Hyundai Aura claims to offer an ARAI-certified mileage of around 20km/l. However, real-world mileage/fuel-efficiency figures could vary between 16 - 18km/l, depending on various external factors.

The Hyundai Aura comes packed with a host of features, equipment and connected technology. Some of the key features on offer on the Hyundai Aura include a 5.2-inch digital instrument cluster with MID, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Bluetooth connectivity, multifunction steering wheel with mounted controls for the audio and other functionalities, electrically-adjustable and foldable ORVMs, height-adjustable driver seat, cooled glovebox, wireless charging, push-button start/stop with smart key, leather wrapped steering wheel and a host of others. In terms of safety, the Hyundai Aura features dual airbags, ABS with EBD, immobiliser, headlamp escort function, speed-sensing door lock, impact-sensing door unlock and ISOFIX child seat anchors to name a few.

The Hyundai Aura comes with a very modern design, featuring sharp lines and a sporty stance. This combined with the strong performing engines on offer, along with the long list of features, make it a very attractive offering in the segment.
