The Bajaj Pulsar 220F is a performance motorcycle in the 200cc to 250cc segment. The motorcycle gets a quarter fairing which gives the Pulsar 220F a sporty look. The quarter fairing integrates well with the muscular fuel tank with the 3D Pulsar logo. The quarter fairing also plays host to projector headlamps, windscreen and stylish rearview mirrors.
The new Laser Edge graphics render an aggressive look to the Pulsar 220F. The silencer is finished with carbon black colour. The tail section is sporty with the step up split seats, split grab rails and signature Pulsar twin strip LED tail light. The overall design is identical to the Pulsar 150 and 180, except for the quarter fairing.
The Bajaj Pulsar 220F is powered by a 220cc oil-cooled, single-cylinder, twin spark engine with a maximum power output of 20bhp at 8,500rpm and a peak torque output of 18.55Nm at 7,000rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The 220cc engine delivers the power in a linear fashion which makes it easier to ride in city conditions. The motorcycle is suited for long highway ride with its good top end. The Pulsar 220F ca sprint from 0-60km/h in just 3.80 seconds and can hit a top-speed of 144km/h. The quarter fairing helps to deflect the wind when gunning down the highway.
The 220cc engine is equipped with Bajaj’s DTS-i technology with twin spark plugs which aids in complete combustion to improve the fuel efficiency. The Pulsar 220F returns a decent mileage of around 38kpl.
The prominent highlight of the Bajaj Pulsar 220F is the sporty quarter fairing which also improves the aerodynamics of the motorcycle. Other notable features of motorcycle include projector headlamp, digital-analog instrument cluster, carbon-fibre texture on the instrument cluster, split seats, split grab rails and LED tail light. The silencer is finished with matte black colour.
The Pulsar 220F is equipped with 260mm disc brake at the front and 2300mm disc brake at the rear. The motorcycle offers a comfortable ride thanks to the front telescopic forks and five-way adjustable, Nitrox shock absorbers at the rear. The split seats are comfortable for both rider and pillion. The 15-litre fuel tank offers good range on long rides.
The Bajaj Pulsar 220F is one of the best motorcycles in the sub-200cc segment with the kind of performance it offers for its price tag. But it would have been a better motorcycle with the more refined engine. Overall it is a good package for those who are looking for a performance motorcycle at an affordable price tag.
