Honda CBR, CB, RR and RS - Here's What It Means

Honda is one of the leading manufacturers of motorcycles worldwide with different bikes falling under various categories.

CB

CB stands for City Bike. These bikes have a relaxed riding position and are more comfort-oriented.

The vintage CB models were popular for classic motorcycle racing, whereas now, they’ve made the switch to road-going vehicles which are ideal for commuting.

CBR

Dan Hancock, Honda’s brain behind the R&D coined the term CBR. The name drew inspiration from the position of the cylinders across the frame beams.

Though most don't know what it means when we talk about Honda motorcycles, CBR is short for Cross-Beam Racer.

RR

RR is the acronym for Race Replica. The motorcycles that fall under this class use some parts which have taken ideas from actual racing bikes.

In most cases, actual race replicas are not auctioned or sold to the public as they are priceless and hold a huge part of history with them.

RS

With the launch of the new CB350 RS, Honda incorporated a new abbreviation, RS, which stands for Road Sailing.

We find the bike has sportier ergonomics than the CB, but is also designed for optimum comfort for both, the rider and pillion, even on long journeys.
