Top-Selling Cars In India November 2018: Maruti Swift Leads While The Hyundai Santro Makes It Big

The list of top-selling cars in India for the month of November 2018 is out, and without any surprise element, Maruti Suzuki has attained the first six positions, while the remaining four has been taken up by Hyundai. In fact, the Hyundai Santro, a car which is just over a month old, has managed to come in the top 10 positions.

The November 2018 general car sales report shows that Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai are the two of the most favourite automotive brands in the country. The market performance by Hyundai is particularly impressive since it has surpassed various other Indian brands on the list of best-selling cars of India. The similar trend was seen in the list of top-selling cars of October 2018.

That said, here are the top-selling Indian cars from November 2018:

Maruti Swift

The Maruti Swift is often regarded as India's most-loved hatchback and we do not doubt that fact at all. The car is currently in its third iteration is also popular in several global markets.

Maruti Dzire

The Maruti Dzire is the compact-sedan version of the Swift hatchback, and it often becomes the best selling car in India; if not the Swift or the Alto. The Maruti Dzire is also the car which popularised the sub-four-metre sedan segment in the country and forced other brands to introduce sedans of the same.

Maruti Baleno

The Maruti Baleno is a premium hatchback from the Indian brand, sold exclusively through Nexa outlets. Aimed to be a good player in the foreign markets too (especially in Europe), the Maruti Baleno features upmarket interiors and enough equipment.

Maruti Alto

The Maruti Alto is a popular budget choice in the automotive market and is also the spiritual successor of the legendary Maruti 800. The popularity of the hatchback is so immense that you can find a Maruti Alto at even the remotest inhabited locations in the country.

Maruti Brezza

The Maruti Brezza made a revolution on the Indian market after being one of the first widely-accepted SUVs under four metres. The compact-SUV comes only in a diesel format, and offers all the essentials inside.

Maruti Wagon R

The Maruti Wagon R showcases a unique ‘tall boy' design and has gone through several iterations and updates over the years. Thanks to its compact dimensions and relatively-good interior space, it is an ideal choice for the city.

Hyundai Elite i20

The Hyundai Elite i20 is one of the favourite premium hatchbacks among the masses; mostly in terms of looks. The Fluidic design language of Hyundai has done a decent job in making the Elite i20 quite a desirable car.

Hyundai Creta

Hyundai Grand i10

The Hyundai Grand i10 fills the gap between the premium Elite i20 and the entry-level Eon. With enough features and looks, the Hyundai Grand i10 is certainly a good choice in the mid-level hatchback segment.

Hyundai Santro

The Hyundai Santro was only recently launched and it has become an instant success. The main reason for this is its iconic nametag borrowed from the popular Hyundai hatchback sold till the mid-2000s.

Verdict

As mentioned before, Hyundai and Maruti seem to be India's favourite car brands. The sales gap between the two is slowly yet steadily narrowing as Hyundai introduces newer market and product strategies. On the other hand, the rest of automotive brands are also closing in to be in the top 10 positions.
