The India Bike Week 2014, at present India's only motorcycle festival, starts on Jan 17. Among other things one special event to look forward to at this edition of IBW is the unveiling of the Harley Davidson Street 750 for the first time in India.

Harley Davidson Street 750 is the larger of the two small displacement India bound motorcycles, the other being Street 500. Both cruisers were revealed for the first time at the EICMA show in Milan, Italy last year.

The Street 750 comes with a 749cc, V-Twin liquid cooled unit, called the Revolution X engine. The manufacturer says, despite being liquid cooled the engine will sound a lot like its other air-cooled motorcycles. The engine is paired with a 6 speed manual transmission.

The wheels measure 17 and 15 inches at the front and rear respectively, and the brake discs get single calipers at both ends. The Street 750 features a ‘Dark Custom' design styling, which is characteristics by blacked out parts, including the engine, handlebars, forks and even an all-black exhaust. The last bit is the first in a Harley since the original Cafe Racer from the 70s.

Considered by many as the first truly new Harley in nearly a decade and a half, the Street 750 will be manufactured in its Bawal facility in Haryana to cater to local and neighbouring markets. The motorcycle will also be built in the U.S.

Harley Davidson Street 750 will be priced at INR 5 lakhs, making it the most affordable Harley in India. The official launch of the bike will only happen at the Auto Expo in February. Stay tuned for more details straight from India Bike Week 2014.
