Kawasaki ZX-4R Unveiled – Sports High-Revving 4-Cylinder Engine
Kawasaki has unveiled the new Ninja ZX-4R motorcycle in the global market and this new supersport motorcycle from the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer will be available in 3 variants.
These 3 variants of the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R motorcycle include ZX-4R, ZX-4R SE, and ZX-4RR. Moreover, out of these 3 variants of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R supersport motorcycle, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR is the sportiest of the lot with numerous performance-enhancing parts.
That being said, the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R supersport motorcycle is positioned between the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R and the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R. Apart from that, despite sporting a 400cc engine, the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R supersport motorcycle rivals the likes of other supersport motorcycles such as Honda's CBR650R.
Engine
Coming to the powertrain, the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R supersport motorcycle uses a 399cc, liquid-cooled, four-cylinder engine with 75.9bhp of power and comes with a 6-speed gearbox. It is also worth mentioning that the engine in the ZX-4R is capable of revving up to 15,000rpm and can produce an additional 3bhp of power with the RAM air intake system.
In terms of suspension, the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R supersport motorcycle comes with Showa's advanced SFF-BP forks at the front, whereas the rear sports a horizontal back-link suspension that is similar to the Ninja ZX-10R. In addition to this, the top-spec Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR features more advanced Showa BFRC-lite shocks at the rear.
Brakes
&
Tyres
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R comes equipped with two 290mm semi-floating disc brakes at the front and these discs are grabbed by a pair of radially-mounted monobloc calipers, whereas the rear features a single 220mm disc setup. Coming to the tyres, the Ninja ZX-4R comes with 120-section tyres at the front and wider 160-section tyres at the rear.
In terms of features, the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R supersport motorcycle is equipped with all the modern features such as LED lighting, a 4.3-inch full-colour digital instrument cluster, KTRC (Kawasaki Traction Control), bi-directional quick shifter (Kawasaki Quick Shifter), and multiple ride modes (Sport, Road, Rain, and Rider).

With the launch of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R, the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer will be able to bridge the gap between the smaller Ninja ZX-25R and the much more powerful Ninja ZX-6R. That being said, we expect Kawasaki to initially launch the ZX-4R in European markets around the autumn season and subsequently launch in other markets.
