TVS Jupiter 125 Vs TVS Ntorq 125: Design, Powertrain, & More
TVS has recently launched the all-new TVS Jupiter 125. However, as we found out, it is not just a TVS Jupiter with a 125cc engine. The engineers at the TVS Motor Company have built an all-new vehicle from the ground up.
Since TVS is already having the TVS Ntorq in its product portfolio as a 125cc scooter, we shall compare both scooters. For this comparison, we shall look at four parameters; Design, Features &Convenience, Powertrain, and Price.
1. Design
Design is clearly subjective and depends on one's personal preferences. Starting with the design of the TVS Jupiter 125, it kind of reminds us about the Honda Activa 125 yet it retains the silhouette from the 110cc version of the TVS Jupiter.
For starters, the TVS Jupiter 125 uses chrome at the front apron and a glossy black panel on top of the headlight to mimic the presence of a visor. Moreover, it also uses some chrome elements on the sides to balance the overall design.
TVS Ntorq 125, on the other hand, looks a lot more sporty and more appealing to younger audiences. In this regard, TVS has also done a remarkable job to help it stand out from the crowd with some snazzy graphics.
Apart from that, TVS recently launched Spiderman and Thor themed variants of the scooter. The Marvel superhero-themed Ntorq 125 scooters stand out from the crowd as they are adorned with colour schemes from their respective Marvel superheroes.
2. Features & Convenience
This is one of the crucial areas that must be carefully analysed before buying any vehicle. However, it is often overlooked by many buyers while making their purchase decision.
The TVS Jupiter 125 comes with features such as 220mm disc brakes at the front, gas-charged rear shocks, 12-inch tyres at both front and back, front fuel filling, an all-in-one key slot and a massive 33-litre underseat storage.
TVS Ntorq 125 also comes with a long list of features such as Bluetooth connectivity, an All-Digital instrument console, LED headlamps and many more.
3. Powertrain
In the TVS Jupiter 125, TVS has used a new 2-valve setup instead of the 3-valve set up from the TVS NTorq. This means the TVS Jupiter 125 produces a leisurely 8.04 bhp at 6,500 rpm. However, the 125cc engine in the TVS Jupiter produces a healthy 10.5 Nm of torque low down in the rev range at just 4,500 rpm.
TVS Ntorq 125 scooter comes with a peppy 3-Valve,125cc engine. This engine produces 9.2bhp at 7,000 rpm and 10.5Nm at 5,500rpm. However, if you fancy a bit more power, you can go for the more potent TVS Ntorq 125 Race XP.
The TVS Ntorq 125 Race XP puts out 10.05bhp at 7,000 rpm and 10.8Nm at 5,500 rpm from its retuned 125cc powertrain.
4. Price
Pricing plays a crucial role in the buying decision of many people. No matter what features the scooter may have, to be successful in India, the manufacturer must price its product competitively.
The TVS Ntorq 125 prices start from just Rs 72,270 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and goes all the way up to Rs 84,025 (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the Race XP variant.
Whereas the TVS Jupiter 125 prices start from Rs 73,400 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and its top-end variant costs Rs 81,300 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Thoughts About TVS Ntorq 125 And TVS Jupiter 125
Being the newer scooter, the TVS Jupiter delivers the most space, decent features and comes with an attractive pricing package. Credit must also be given to engineers at TVS for the massive 33-litre underseat storage space. On the other hand, the TVS Ntorq 125 still remains an attractive scooter for younger audiences.
