British bikemaker Triumph has launched the Speed Twin 900 and Scrambler 900 in India. The Speed Twin 900 and Scrambler 900 are essentially rebadged versions of the erstwhile Street Twin and Street Scrambler.

The model year 2023 Speed Twin 900 and Scrambler 900 are essentially rebadged versions of the erstwhile Street Twin and Street Scrambler. Prices remain unchanged starting at Rs 8.35 lakh for the Street Speed 900 and Rs 9.45 lakh for the Scrambler 900.

As stated before the new Speed Twin 900 and Scrambler 900 are renamed versions of Triumph's previous Speed Twin & Street Scrambler and the bikes remain mechanically unchanged. However, both bikes get cosmetic upgrades in the form of new paint schemes and graphics.

The new Speed Twin 900 is offered in three colour options - Triumph Jet Black, Matt Ironstone and a sophisticated new Matt Silver Ice option, which features silver and yellow accents. The bike features new black painted front and rear mudguards along with Jet black side panels with the new Speed Twin 900 logo.

The new Scrambler 900 is offered in four colour schemes - Triumph Jet Black, Carnival Red and Jet Black plus a Matt Khaki scheme that celebrates the Scrambler's off-road heritage. There are new Scrambler 900 logos on the side panels of the new bike.

Underneath the new paint schemes, both bikes essentially remain unchanged. Both the new Scrambler 900 and Speed Twin 900 are powered by the same 900cc, liquid cooled, 8 valve, Single Overhead Camshaft, 270° crank angle, parallel twin engine. The 900cc fuel-injected twin cranks out 64.1bhp at 7,500rpm and 80Nm of peak torque at 3,800rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheel via chain drive and a 5-speed gearbox.

Both bikes feature tubular steel twin cradle frames. At the front, the bikes sport 41mm cartridge forks while the rear end features twin shocks with a twin-sided swingarm. Braking duties are handled by a 310mm disc at the front with Brembo 4 piston callipers and a 255mm disc at the rear with Nissin 2 piston callipers.

The Speed Twin 900 rides on a staggered alloy wheel setup. The 18-inch unit at the front is shod with a 100/90-18 tyre while the rear end sports a smaller 17-inch wheel draped with a 150/17-R70 tyre.

The Scrambler 900 also sports a staggered setup with spoked steel wheels shod with Metzeler Tourance tyres. The front sports a 19-inch wheel clad in a 100/90-19 tyre and the 17-inch rear unit is shod with 150/70-17 tyre.
