Top 10 Scooters Sold In India In May 2022 - Activa Continues To Rule As Ola Checks In
The Honda Activa continued to dominate the scooter segment in India in May with the TVS Jupiter and the Suzuki Access rounding off the top 3. The Ola S1 Pro managed to sneak into the top 10 list coming in a No.9.

1) Honda Activa - 1,49,470 Units
The Honda Activa continued its dominance of the scooter market in India in May 2022. Honda sold nearly 150k units of the Activa in India last year which was a massive 778.93 per cent (1,32,464 units) increase Year-over-Year over May 2021 when Honda sold only 17,006 units due to the second wave of the Covid 19 pandemic shutting down the country.
2) TVS Jupiter - 59,613 Units
May 2022 saw TVS sell 59,613 units of its Jupiter lineup of scooters in India. Sales of the TVS Jupiter rose by 868.84 per cent (53,460 units) compared to the same period last year. In May 2021, TVS sold only 6,153 units of the Jupiter as the nation shut down due to the pandemic.
3) Suzuki Access - 35,709 Units
Taking the final spot on the podium on this list for May 2022 was the Suzuki Access with the Japanese manufacturer selling 35,709 units of the scooter last month. Suzuki's sales numbers for Access were also up by crazy numbers with Y-o-Y figures rising by 267.91 per cent (26,003 units) compared to May 2021. In the fifth month of 2021, Suzuki sold 9,706 units of the Access scooter in India.
4) TVS Ntorq 125 - 26,005 Units
The TVS Ntorq 125 is the second scooter on this list from the Chennai-based two-wheeler manufacturer. TVS sold 26,055 units of the Ntorq in May 2022 which was a near 500 per cent (21,688 units) increase over the same period last year. In May 2021, TVS only sold 4,337 units of the Ntorq 125 in India.
5) Honda Dio - 20,497 units
The Honda Dio is the second scooter from the Japanese two-wheeler giant on this list. Honda sold 20,497 units of the Dio in India last month which was a 1,107.84 per cent (18,800 units) increase over the 1,697 units sold in the same period last year.
The Other Five
Hero's first scooter on this list is the Pleasure which slides into 6th place. Hero sold 18,531 units of the Pleasure last month which was a 739.27 per cent (16,323 units) increase over May 2021's 2,208 units.
The second Suzuki on this list comes in the form of the Burgman Maxi scooter in 7th place with 12,990 units sold in May 2022. This was a 373.22 per cent (10,245 units) increase over the 2,745 Burgmans sold in May 2021.
In 8th was the second Hero on our list in the form of the Destini 125. Hero sold 10,892 units of the Destini 125 in May 2022, which was a humongous gain of 1,917.04 per cent (10,352 units) compared to the same period in 2021. Only 540 units of the Hero Destini 125 were sold in May 2021.
The last two scooters on the list were not out in May 2021. In the 9th spot was the only electric scooter on this list in the form of the Ola S1 Pro. Ola sold 9,225 units of the Ola S1 Pro last month (retail) as per data released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations.
Tenth place was occupied by the third Suzuki on this list in the form of the recently launched Avenis. In May 2022, 8,922 units of the Suzuki Avenis were sold in India.

May 2022 saw the Honda Activa continue its dominance of the Indian scooter market. The Activa in May 2022 outsold the next 4 scooters in the Top 5 combined which shows just how popular the Honda scooter is in India.
