Royal Enfield Scram 411 Vs Yezdi Scrambler: Powertrain, Features, Price & More

Powertrain

The Royal Enfield Scram 411 is powered by the same 411cc, air-cooled, SOHC, fuel-injected engine as the Royal Enfield Himalayan. This engine produces 24.3bhp of peak power at 6,500 rpm and 32Nm of peak torque at 4,500rpm, and it is mated to a 5-speed transmission.

On the other hand, the more advanced DOHC and liquid-cooled setup enables the smaller 334cc engine to produce a healthier 29.7bhp of peak power at 8,000 rpm and 29.9Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. In addition to the more powerful engine, the Yezdi Scrambler also sports a 6-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch.

Features & Technology

The Yezdi Scrambler offers a few more features and equipments than the Royal Enfield Scram 411 such as LED headlights, LED taillamps, LED turn indicators, three ride modes for ABS, two USB charging ports (one USB-A and one USB-C), one-step adjustable rear brake lever and many more.

Despite being a newer motorcycle, the Royal Enfield Scram 411 feels spartan in comparison with its Halogen headlamps, and halogen turn indicators. However, it does come with an optional Tripper Navigation unit.

Chassis & Suspension

The Royal Enfield Scram 411 is equipped with a Half-Duplex frame and comes with a telescopic front suspension with 190mm wheel travel and a mono-shock setup at the rear with 180mm wheel travel.

This enables the Royal Enfield Scram 411 to glide through the rough patches and soak almost all large bumps.

In comparison, the Yezdi Scrambler is equipped with a double-cradle frame and uses telescopic front suspension with 150mm wheel travel and dual gas-charged shocks at the rear with 130mm wheel travel. Both of which are less than the Scram 411 and limits the off-road ability of the Yezdi Scrambler.

Tyres & Brakes

The Yezdi Scrambler comes with more off-road friendly 19-inch spoked wheels at the front shod with 100/90 section tyres, whereas the rear sports 17-inch wheels wrapped in 140/70 section tyres.

On the other hand, the Royal Enfield Scram 411 comes with a similar wheels setup, however, the wheels at the rear are shod with 120/90 section tyres. Moreover, the Royal Enfield Scram 411 also sports more off-road worthy Ceat Gripp tyres.

Coming to the brakes, the Yezdi has a slight advantage as it sports 320mm discs at the front, which is 20mm larger than the one in the Royal Enfield Scram 411. However, both bikes sport 240mm discs at the rear.

Price

Pricing is a very important factor and the newly launched Royal Enfield Scram 411 is priced at Rs 2.03 lakh (ex-showroom, India), whereas the Yezdi Scrambler is priced from Rs 2.04 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

Thoughts About Royal Enfield Scram 411 & Yezdi Scrambler

The Royal Enfield Scram 411 is basically an off-road motorcycle that has been given a more tarmac friendly makeover, whereas the Yezdi Scrambler is based on a more road-biased motorcycle.

So, if you want a motorcycle predominantly for city runabouts and highway rides, the Yezdi Scrambler seems better suited. However, if you plan to take your motorcycle on rougher terrain more often, the Royal Enfield Scram 411 would be a better choice.
