Royal Enfield Hunter 350 - Light, Nimble & Affordable
It is just a matter of time before Royal Enfield launches the Hunter 350 motorcycle in the Indian two-wheeler market. This particular upcoming Royal Enfield motorcycle is based on the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 platform (Royal Enfield J-Platform).
When launched, we expect the upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter 350 to be not only the least expensive motorcycle in Royal Enfield's product portfolio but also the lightest and most nimble among other Royal Enfield motorcycles as well.
Thanks to the use of J-Platform, the upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter 350 retains all the desirable signature traits of the Royal Enfield motorcycle.
Earlier, a few leaked information and images regarding the upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter 350 revealed crucial information about the upcoming Royal Enfield motorcycle.
From the spied images, we can see that the upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter 350 features a scrambler-type styling with its minimalist design language and the motorcycle also features an attractive retro theme with its circular headlamps, circular turn indicators, circular rear-view mirrors, tear-drop shaped fuel tank, long single-piece seat, and slightly raised rear section.
Apart from that, the spied images also hint low seating position. To complement this, the upcoming Hunter 350 seems to come with wide handlebars and slightly mid-set foot pegs.
This type of riding position will give the upcoming Hunter 350 slightly sportier riding characteristics compared to other Royal Enfield motorcycles such as the Meteor, Classic, Bullet and a few more.
Thanks to the use of J-Platform, Royal Enfield will be using the same 349cc powertrain as other Royal Enfield motorcycles such as Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and Royal Enfield Classic 350 motorcycles.
This 349cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine in the upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter is capable of producing 20.2bhp of peak power and 27Nm of torque. Moreover, this engine comes with a 5-speed gearbox.
However, we are not sure if Royal Enfield has made any changes to the gear ratios of the 5-speed gearbox to suit the character of the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 motorcycle.
Also, we expect the kerb weight of the upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter 350 to be around 5Kg to 8Kg less than the Royal Enfield Meteor 350. This will give the upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter 350 a much better power-to-weight ratio.
The earlier leaked information also revealed that the upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter will be offered in two variants under the codename 'J1C1' and 'J1C2'. Out of these two models, the 'J1C1' will sport more features, whereas the 'J1C2' variant will come with bare minimum features to keep the prices very aggressive.
Thanks to the 'J1C2' variant, we expect the starting price of the upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter 350 to be around Rs 1.30 lakh to Rs 1.40 lakh, ex-showroom. This puts the Hunter 350 competing against motorcycles such as Yamaha FZ25, Suzuki Gixxer, and Bajaj Pulsar 250.
Also, we expect Royal Enfield to launch the Hunter 350 motorcycle either around mid-July or at the beginning of August. Moreover, the deliveries of the Hunter 350 motorcycle is expected to commence a month after the launch.
Thoughts About Upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter 350
The launch of the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 will be crucial as it will give access to a much bigger segment. We also expect, the Hunter 350 to quickly gain traction in the Indian two-wheeler segment.
