1. Powertrain

The Royal Enfield Himalayan is powered by a 411cc, oil-cooled, SOHC engine with 23.98bhp at 6,500 rpm and 32Nm of torque at 4,500rpm. This engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission.

Thanks to the more advanced DOHC and liquid-cooled setup, the newly launched Yezdi Adventure motorcycle produces healthier 29.78bhp at 8,000 rpm and an equally respectable 29.9Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm despite having a smaller capacity engine at 334cc.

Apart from that, the Yezdi Adventure motorcycle also comes with an extra cog to stretch its legs on long highway rides and it is around 11kgs lighter at just 188kgs.

2. Features & Technology

Being a newer motorcycle, the Yezdi Adventure offers a few more features and equipments than the Royal Enfield Himalayan such as LED headlights, LED taillamps, LED turn indicators, three ride modes, adjustable windscreen, tilt-adjustable digital instrument console and many more.

3. Chassis & Suspension

The Royal Enfield Himalayan is equipped with a Half-Duplex frame, whereas the newly launched Yezdi Adventure is equipped with a double-cradle frame. Though both motorcycles use different chassis types, it is generally very difficult to conclude which chassis is better than the other without riding both motorcycles.

For starters, both motorcycles come with an almost identical suspension setup as both motorcycles use an adventure-friendly telescopic front suspension with 200mm travel and at the rear, both motorcycles offer a mono suspension setup with 180mm travel.

4. Design

Design is a very subjective topic and one's preferences depend on their personal taste. Though both bikes look pretty similar in terms of their design, the Royal Enfield Himalayan does look a bit more proportionate to my eyes.

However, the Yezdi Adventure looks a bit more modern with its LED headlights, LED taillamps, and LED turn indicators. Thanks to the factory-fitted 5-litre jerry can, the Yezdi Adventure also looks a bit more 'adventure-ready'.

5. Price

Pricing is a very important factor and the Yezdi Adventure knocks the ball out of the park with an aggressive price tag of just Rs 2.09 lakh (ex-showroom, India), which is almost Rs 5,000 less than the starting price of a Royal Enfield Himalayan.

It is clear that Yezdi has clearly done its market research before developing its motorcycle. That being said, Royal Enfield Himalayan has stood the test of time and it is now Yezdi's turn to prove the same.
