Ola Electric Scooters To Become More Expensive: Hints Ola Electric CEO
Ola electric scooters are likely to become more expensive as the company will be looking forward to hike the prices of Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro electric scooters.
The news regarding the price hike was revealed by the company CEO via Twitter. In his tweet, Mr Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO and Co-Founder of Ola Electric tweeted "Last chance to get it (Ola S1 Pro) for 129,999. We'll be raising prices in the next window. This window ends 18th midnight".
In the tweet, he also thanked Ola users by saying "Thanks to all who've purchased S1 Pro already and special thanks to those who've bought their 2nd or 3rd S1 Pro!"
Speaking about Ola Electric, the company plans to become the largest EV manufacturer in the country and the company producing almost 1,000 electric scooters per day.
Apart from that, Ola Electric is planning to launch MoveOS 2.0 via OTA update to existing users. The latest update is expected to bring features such as location sharing, locating nearby charging stations, cruise control, turn-by-turn navigation and a few more.
Customers can still pre-book the Ola electric scooter on their website by paying the pre-booking amount of Rs 499.
Ola Electric went live last year on August 15, 2021, and received 1 lakh+ pre-bookings within the first 24 hours.
Later Ola announce that the customers who pre-booked the Ola electric scooter could book the Ola electric scooter by paying Rs 20,000 and later the company will give a date for making the full payment.
According to the official figures released by Ola Electric, the Ola S1 can cover 121kms on a single charge, whereas the Ola S1 pro can manage 181kms on a full battery.
Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro come with a wide variety of features which included features such as keyless app-based access, disc brakes, telescopic front suspension, LED headlights, digital instrument cluster, cloud connectivity, alloy wheels, and many more.
While the Ola S1 is powered by a 2.98kWh battery pack, the more expensive Ola S1 Pro came powered by a larger 3.97kWh battery pack. However, both scooters came with a near-identical electric motor.
Despite the similarity in the electric motor being used in both the scooters, their performance was noticeably different as the Ola S1 Pro is slightly faster with an official 0-40km/h time of seconds and a top speed of 115km/h.
The same feat in Ola S1 took 3.6 seconds to 40km/h and could only manage a slightly lower top speed of 90km/h only.
We believe the performance difference could be largely due to the additional 'Hyper Mode' in the Ola S1 Pro that allows the user to extract additional performance from the scooter.
Another interesting feature about the Ola electric scooter is its large 50-litre under-seat storage that is almost twice as large as most scooters that are available in India.
Thoughts About Ola Electric
Ola Electric has witnessed an overwhelming response for its electric scooters and is quickly on the way to becoming one of the biggest names in the automotive industry.
