Ola Electric has finally launched its much-awaited MoveOS 2 to all its customers. This new update is touted to make the scooter much more efficient, and also add a few new features to the already very well-equipped electric scooter.
Moreover, to mark the occasion, Ola Electric had invited all its customers to the Ola Futurefactory for celebrating and the launching MoveOS 2. According to sources, more than 50,000 Ola electric scooter customers were invited to this event.
According to Ola Electric, the MoveOS 2 fixes a few bugs in the software. However, Ola Electric mentioned these bugs as "Isolated instances such as range drop, battery discharge and other minor areas".
Diving into the details, the latest MoveOS2 update offers its respective owners to remotely access vehicle metrics of their Ola electric scooter and also access the boot at the touch of a button.
Ola Electric has also added features such as Cruise Control, music playback and new advanced turn-by-turn navigation with the MoveOS 2 update.
However, the biggest advantage of the MoveOS 2 is the range. Ola Electric claims a range of 165km per charge with the Move OS 2. Moreover, Ola Electric claims that more than 100 customers have already achieved over 200km range with the Move OS 2 (beta).
Though in recent times Ola Electric had been in the limelight for various opinions, the company seems to bo the right track to becoming one of the biggest names in the EV sector. As part of becoming one of the biggest names in the EV sector, Ola Electric also teased its upcoming electric car.
Earlier, the startup company had announced that the company is planning to invest USD 100M in Ola Futurefoundry over a period of the next five years. Moreover, this unit will be based in Coventry, UK and will work in sync with the design and engineering team based at the Ola Campus in Bangalore.
According to Ola Electric, the Ola Futurefoundry in Coventry will focus on vehicle R&D around new energy systems including cell technologies and is likely to employ more than 200 outstanding talents from all over the world.
Speaking about Ola Electric, its electric scooters are available in two variants - Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro. Though both Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro look quite similar, under the skin, both electric scooters carry slight differences.
While the Ola S1 is powered by a 2.98kWh battery pack, the more premium Ola S1 Pro uses a larger 3.97kWh battery pack for added range. Thanks to this larger battery pack, the Ola S1 Pro can cover 181km on a single charge, whereas the Ola S1 can only manage 121km per full charge.
In addition to these, both Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro electric scooters come with a wide variety of features such as a digital instrument cluster, LED headlights, keyless app-based access, reversing mode, cloud connectivity, alloy wheels, disc brakes, telescopic front suspension, and many more.
