Ola Electric Invites Over 50,000 Customers To Its Futurefactory In Tamilnadu
Ola Electric has invited all its customers to the Ola Futurefactory on June 19 for celebrations and the launch of the much-awaited MoveOS 2. More than 50,000 Ola S1 electric scooter customers are said to be invited to this event.
Recently, Mr Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO of Ola Electric tweeted "For our customer event at the Ola Futurefactory on Sunday 19th June, earlier plan was to invite 1000 customers. Now we've decided to invite ALL our Ola S1 customers, more than 50,000! We'll have a factory tour, customer celebrations and MoveOS 2 launch!!"
In his tweet, Mr Aggarwal also mentioned that the invited customers would also get a factory tour of the Ola Future Factory in Tamilnadu.
In recent times, Ola Electric had been basking in the limelight for various opinions. However, the company seems to bo the right track to becoming one of the biggest names in the EV sector.
As part of becoming an EV powerhouse, Ola Electric had earlier announced that the company is planning to invest USD 100M in Ola Futurefoundry over a period of the next five years. Speaking about the Ola Futurefoundry, the unit will be based in Coventry, UK and will work in sync with the design and engineering team based at the Ola Campus in Bangalore.
Apart from that, the Ola Futurefoundry will be the brand's global centre for advanced engineering and vehicle design. Moreover, the Ola Futurefoundry in Coventry will focus on vehicle R&D around new energy systems including cell technologies.
In addition to this, the Ola Futurefoundy will employ more than 200 outstanding talents from all over the world. Also, the Ola Electric CEO is working to develop and launch an electric car.
Speaking about the future, the Indian start-up company is installing 4000+ 'Hypercharger' charging networks across major Indian cities at various BPCL pumps and residential complexes.
These Hyperchargers are capable of charging the Ola electric scooters from 0 to 50 per cent in just 18 minutes. In this time, the Hypercharger would have ideally added 75 kms of range to the Ola electric scooters. Also, the user of the Ola Electric App will be able to monitor the charging status of his Ola electric scooter in real-time.
The Ola electric scooters are available in two variants - Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro. While both Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro look quite similar, under the skin, both scooters carry slight differences. Where the Ola S1 is powered by a 2.98kWh battery pack, the Ola S1 Pro uses a larger 3.97kWh battery pack for added range.
Moreover, the performance numbers between the Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro are slightly different despite having a similar motor setup, and according to official figures from Ola Electric, the Ola S1 can cover 121kms on a single charge, whereas the Ola S1 pro can manage 181kms.
Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro electric scooters also come with a wide variety of features such as keyless app-based access, digital instrument cluster, LED headlights, reversing mode, cloud connectivity, alloy wheels, disc brakes, telescopic front suspension, and many more.
Thoughts About Ola Electric
While Ola Electric had received a fair share of negative opinions, the start-up company seems to be on right track to becoming a mainstream two-wheeler manufacturer in India.
