Spy Pics: Oben Rorr Electric Motorcycle Spotted Testing

The Oben Rorr electric motorcycle was spied testing in India's tech hub, Bangalore. The Rorr is being put through its paces by the Bangalore based EV startup before Oben starts allowing potential customers to test ride the electric motorcycle.

The Oben Rorr test mule seen in these spy pics featured quite a bit of camouflage on its body panels. However, Oben has already revealed all the relevant details about the electric motorcycle when they launched it two months back.

The Oben Rorr electric motorcycle is powered by a mid-mounted electric motor that produces 13.41bhp and 62Nm of peak torque. The mid-mounted electric motor drives the rear wheel through a belt drive and a single-speed gearbox.

The Oben Rorr's electric motor draws power from a lithium ferro phosphate battery pack that sits inside a die-cast aluminium casing. The battery pack which is IP67 rated for dust and water resistance allows the Oben Rorr to ride unabated for 150 kilometers in the electric bike's Eco riding mode.

In City mode, the range drops to 120 kilometres while in Havoc mode, the range comes down even further to just 100 kilometres. However, in Havoc mode, the Oben Rorr can sprint from 0-40km/h in just 3 seconds and the bike will continue accelerating till it tops out at 100km/h.

Oben claims that the Rorr can recharge its battery pack at a rate of 1km/minute. The Oben Rorr's battery pack sports a 3 year/60,000 kilometre warranty.

The Oben Rorr sports telescopic front forks and a mono shock at the rear. Braking duties are performed by disc brakes at both ends that are aided by a combi-braking system.

Like a modern sports bike, the Oben Rorr's design features a sculpted fuel tank section but this plays host to battery pack that allows the Oben to cruise around for up to 150 kilometres on a single charge. The Oben Rorr also sports a fully digital display which gices readouts for the speed, range, odometer and other essentials in a very easy to understand interface.

The Oben Rorr also comes packed with features like theft protection and a rider alert system and can be paired with the Oben app using Bluetooth to keep track of every minute detail about the electric bike's performance and health.

These latest pictures of the Oben Rorr show that the electric bike's makers are still hard at work testing the motorcycle. This will ensure that when the time comes to deliver the bikes in July, Oben will find out and take care of any niggles that may creep up if any.
