New TVS iQube: Everything You Need Need To Know - Features, Powertrain, Charging, Price & More
TVS recently launched the 2022 iteration of its iQube electric scooter in India. The TVS iQube is also the first electric scooter by the Hosur-based automaker.
Apart from that, the new TVS iQube is now available in 3 variants - iQube, iQube S and iQube ST and the bookings for all three variants of the electric scooter are currently open.
Design
In terms of design, the latest iteration of the TVS iQube looks identical to the previous version with its slightly 'boxy' design. However, the TVS iQube S and TVS iQube ST variants do sport minor differences in terms of the visor design.
This is to accommodate a slightly larger touchscreen instrument cluster on both the TVS iQube S and TVS iQube ST variants.
Features
Like most electric scooters in the market, the TVS iQube also comes packed to the brim with features. This includes features such as LED headlamps, TVS SmartXonnect connectivity with App-based interaction, telescopic front suspension, front disc brakes, LED tail lamps, a 5-inch TFT touchscreen display, multiple ride modes, reverse mode, and many more.
Apart from that, the TVS iQube S and TVS iQube ST variants sport a larger 7-inch TFT touchscreen display. In addition to that, the TVSiQube also features keyless unlocking, social media notifications, Alexa-enabled voice assistance and much more.
Colours
The earlier model of the TVS iQube was exclusively available in white colour and customers had no other colour options. However, the updated TVS iQube is available in 10 different colour options.
Powertrain
The updated TVS iQube continues to be powered by the tried-and-tested 4.4kW electric motor from the earlier model. However, TVS have upgraded the battery packs and electronics package.
Both the TVS iQube and the TVS iQube S now sport a larger 3.4kWh battery pack instead of the 2.2kWh battery pack. Thanks to this larger battery pack, both the TVS iQube and the TVS iQube S can cover 100kms on a single charge.
The TVS iQube ST variant on the other hand comes with a larger 5.1kWh battery pack and an additional 'Power' mode. Thanks to the larger battery pack, the TVS iQube ST can do 140kms on a full charge and the Power mode also helps attain a higher topspeed at 82km/h.
Speaking about performance, the TVS iQube and the TVS iQube S variants can attain a topspeed of 78km/h and all three variants of the TVS iQube can reach 40km/h from a standstill in just 4.2 seconds.
Charging
At present, TVS is allowing its customers to choose three different chargers for its iQube electric scooter. These options include 650W, 950W, and 1.5kW chargers.
While it took 4 hours and 30 minutes to charge the earlier model with its 500W charger, the 1.5kW charger can achieve the same feat in just 2 hours and 30 minutes. Whereas the 950W charger takes 4 hours and 6 minutes to do the same.
Price
The TVS iQube was originally launched for Rs 1.15 lakh (on-road, Bengaluru). Now, the entry-level variant of the TVS iQube has been priced at Rs 1.11 lakh (on-road, Bengaluru), whereas the 'S' variant has been priced at Rs 1.19 lakh (on-road, Bengaluru).
However, TVS is yet to announce the pricing for the top-end 'ST' variant of the TVS iQube electric scooter, but the model can be reserved for Rs 999.
Thoughts About New TVS iQube Electric Scooter
The new TVS iQube now gives its customers a wide variety of choices in terms of body colours, powertrain and charging. This will give more flexibility to customers when choosing their electric scooter.
Apart from that, the ST variant of the TVS iQube with its 140km range will attract many 'range anxious' buyers to the showroom.
