Kawasaki Z650RS 50th Anniversary Edition Will Soon Come To India: No Mechanical Updates
Kawasaki Z650RS recently launched the Kawasaki Z650RS motorcycle in India and the company is now planning to launch the 50th Anniversary Edition of the retro-themed 650cc motorcycle in India.
Apart from that, we expect the 50th Anniversary Edition of the Kawasaki Z650RS to be available in just limited numbers, and speaking about the motorcycle, the limited edition brings a red and blue dual-tone paint scheme to the exterior and also adds gold-coloured rims.
This exterior colour combination adds a lot of character to the retro-themed Kawasaki Z650RS motorcycle.
Pricing-wise, expect the 50th Anniversary Edition of the Kawasaki Z650RS to be priced a smidge above the standard version and we expect the ex-showroom price tag to hover above Rs 7 lakh mark.
Speaking about the motorcycle, the Kawasaki Z650RS is a neo-retro middle-weight motorcycle based on the Kawasaki Z650, however, the design takes a lot of design cues from the original Kawasaki Z650-B1 from the 1970s.
While the standard Kawasaki Z650RS itself comes with gold alloy wheels, round headlights with a thick chrome surround, a twin-pod analogue instrument console, and the slightly elongated tail section, the new dual-tone paint scheme on the 50th Anniversary Edition of the Kawasaki Z650RS gives the motorcycle an added retro visual appeal.
Since the Kawasaki Z650Rs is a modern motorcycle, it comes with plenty of modern elements that improve the overall visual appeal and overall riding experience such as the slim and clear LED indicator stalks, under-belly exhaust, and the LED headlamp setup.
Since the Kawasaki Z650RS is based on the Kawasaki Z650, the Kawasaki Z650RS also uses an identical suspension setup with 41mm telescopic forks up front and a horizontal link suspension at the rear that is adjustable for pre-load.
Apart from these, the similarities further extend down to the trellis frame chassis and the 650cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. Though the Kawasaki Z650RS produces an identical 67 bhp and 64Nm of torque as the Kawasaki Z650, it is tuned to produce better low-end and mid-range performance.
However, Kawasaki has made some mechanical changes such as the disc brake setup, where instead of carrying over the dual-petal disc brake setup from the Kawasaki Z650, Kawasaki has opted to use standard rotors on the Kawasaki Z650RS.
Speaking of differences, the fully digital instrument console is replaced by a more traditional twin-pod analogue instrument console. However, Kawasaki has added a small LCD between the analogue speedometer and tachometer to display additional useful information.
Apart from this, Kawasaki Z650RS also misses out on Bluetooth connectivity and phone integration.
In India, prices for the Kawasaki Z650RS starts from Rs 6.72 lakhs (ex-showroom, India), and as mentioned earlier, the 50th Anniversary Edition of the Kawasaki Z650RS might be priced a smidge above Rs 7 lakh in the country.
Thoughts About Kawasaki Z650RS 50th Anniversary Edition
While there are no doubts regarding the looks of the Kawasaki Z650RS, the 50th Anniversary Edition of the Kawasaki Z650RS gives the motorcycle an added retro visual appeal and looks way better than the standard model.
