Indian FTR Championship Edition Revealed: Celebrates Flat Track Legacy
Indian Motorcycle recently launched the limited edition FTR Championship Edition motorcycle as part of the motorcycle brand celebrating its flat track legacy.
According to Indian Motorcycle, only 400 examples of the FTR Championship Edition motorcycles will be built and it will give race fans an opportunity to race fans all over the world to join the Indian Wreck Crew's celebration of five consecutive wins at the American Flat Track Championship.
In terms of design, the FTR Championship Edition motorcycle has been inspired by the FTR750. To further accentuate the success, limited-edition motorcycle sports an authentic race paint scheme.
In addition to this, making the motorcycle even more special is the presence of the Indian Motorcycle Racing bezel with each championship season on display that commemorates the brand's success at the flat track.
However, the limited-edition motorcycle from the Indian Motorcycle is more than just a showpiece. In fact, the limited-edition FTR motorcycle features premium components such as a titanium Akrapovic Exhaust, fully adjustable front forks and piggyback shock, lightweight carbon fibre parts. While ProTaper flat tracker aluminium handlebars complete the intended looks for the motorcycle.
These carbon fibre parts include a front fender, airbox covers, seat cowl, and headlight nacelle. These carbon fibre components further accentuate the motorcycle's premium design and accentuate a sense of sophistication.
Moreover, the Indian FTR Championship Edition motorcycle is much more than a cosmetic makeover. Under the carbon fibre body panels, the Indian FTR Championship motorcycle features a few ride-enhancing technologies such as wheelie control with rear lift mitigation, stability control, three ride modes, traction control and cornering ABS.
In terms of hardware, the limited-edition FTR Championship motorcycle is equipped with race-inspired 19-inch wheels at the front and 18-inch wheels at the rear. According to Indian Motorcycle, these wheels come shod in Dunlop street tyres with a flat track-inspired tread pattern.
Apart from that, the limited-edition FTR Championship motorcycle sports a Radially mounted dual front disc with Brembo calipers that are designed to offer exceptional control and stopping power.
The Indian FTR Championship Edition also sports a potent 1203cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine capable of pushing out 121.3bhp of peak power and 120Nm of peak torque.

Indian Motorcycle Racing is the winner of the Manufacturer's Championships for the past five years. Moreover, since Indian Motorcycle Racing's return to the flat track racing in 2017 with the FTR750, the factory team has won all championships till date in the sport's premiere class.
