Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 & Vitpilen 250 Get New Colours - Prices Unchanged
Ahead of the festive season in India, Husqvarna has refreshed its motorcycles with new colour options - The Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 gets a new Black Blue Moonshine colour option. In contrast, the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 gets a Ceramic White colour option.
Despite sporting refreshed colour options, prices for the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 motorcycles remain the same as before at 2.19 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Apart from that, bookings for both these motorcycles with the new colour options are already open.
Diving into the details, Husqvarna claims that the Vitpilen 'White Arrow' gets a matte ceramic white colour option, and this colour is complemented by gloss dark silver metallic seat cowls, whereas the Svartpilen 'Black Arrow' gets a matte black-blue colour paint scheme with beige grey seat cowls.
However, as mentioned, the latest update to both the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 motorcycles are limited to new colour options and no mechanical changes have been done to the motorcycles.
Starting with the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250, this motorcycle is the sportier version and comes with more aggressive elements such as clip-on handlebars, a set of lighter 5-spoke alloy wheels and a front-leaning riding position.
In contrast, the Husqvarna Svartpilen gets more rugged and slightly more practical elements such as dual-purpose tyres, sturdier 8-spoke alloy wheels, wider tubular handlebars, and a more upright riding posture.
Despite these differences, both the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 250 motorcycles are almost identical in terms of their powertrain and other mechanical bits. Starting with the powertrain, both these motorcycles use the same 250cc engine from the KTM Duke 250.
This 248.76cc, single-cylinder, 4-valve, DOHC engine produces 29.63bhp of peak power at 9,000rpm, and 24Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. Apart from that, both the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 250 motorcycles sport a 6-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch.
Apart from this, both Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 250 motorcycles sport an identical Split Trellis Frame, 43mm USD WP Apex forks at the front, and a WP Apex monoshock at the rear. Also, the fuel tank size is also identical at 9.5-litres.
Coming to the braking duties, both the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 250 motorcycles sport dual-channel ABS with 320mm disc at the front and 230mm disc at the rear. Though the Svarpilen 250 comes with dual-purpose tyres, the size of the tyre remains the same as the Vitpilen 250 with 110/70 R17 tyres at the front and a wider 150/60 R17 tyres at the rear.
Though both the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 250 motorcycles are well-known as fun-to-ride motorcycles, the sales figures for both these motorcycles haven't been 'Fun' for the two-wheeler manufacturer.
