Honda Click 160 Scooter Unveiled: Competes With Yamaha Aerox 155
Honda has unveiled the new Click 160 scooter at the Bangkok Motor Show in Thailand. In the international markets, the Honda Click 160 competes against the likes of other Japanese scooters such as the Suzuki Burgman, Yamaha NMAX and Yamaha Aerox 155.
Though the ‘Click' name sounds familiar, the Honda Click 160 is not at all related to the Honda Cliq 110 sold in India. Where the Honda Cliq 110 is built to a certain price tag, the Honda Click 160 is built to compete against other established 160cc scooters.
Speaking about the design, the Honda Click 160 is not a maxi-scooter but it does sport a large fender that makes it look almost like a maxi-scooter. Overall the design is more like the Suzuki Burgman range of scooters in India but with a lot of sharp lines and angles in the design.
Apart from that, the Honda Click 160 also features a flat footboard for added practicality unlike the Yamaha Aerox 155 sold in India and other international markets.
Moreover, the Honda Click 160 seems to ride on 14-inch alloy wheels shod with chunky rubber at the front and rear. However, Honda has not yet released any information regarding the tyre and wheel size.
In addition to that, thanks to the inclusion of larger diameter wheels and fat tyres, the setup is likely to benefit the scooter with added traction in corners and also improve the aesthetics.
In terms of features, we expect Honda to equip the Click 160 scooter with a reasonably good list of features. Moreover, according to Honda, the Honda Click 160 features a fully digital instrument console, USB charger, smart key ignition, LED headlamps, LED taillamps, LED DRLs, ABS (optional) and many more.
According to sources, the digital instrument cluster of the Honda Click 160 displays a variety of information such as fuel level, trip meter, average fuel consumption, speed and many more.
Powering the Honda Click 160 scooter is a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with 15bhp of peak power and 13.4Nm of peak torque and this power and torque is transmitted to the rear wheels via a CVT gearbox.
In Thailand, Honda Click 160 scooter is priced at THB 63,500, which is approximately Rs 1.45 lakh in India. However, Honda has no plans to launch the Honda Click 160 scooter in India but the Japanese automaker may soon launch the Honda PCX 160 scooter in the country.
Thoughts About Honda Click 160
Though the Honda Click 160 is close to the Yamaha Aerox 155 in terms of specifications, the flat footboard allows the Click 160 to be a bit more practical.
