Hero Motocorp has launched the all-electric Vida V1 Plus and V1 Pro electric scooters in India. The Hero Vida V1 Plus is priced at Rs 1.45 lakh while the V1 Pro commands a price tag of Rs 1.59 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).
The Hero Vida V1 Plus and Pro models will initially be sold in the cities of Delhi, Jaipur and Bangalore. Prospective Vida buyers will be able to book their V1 Plus or V1 Pro electric scooters in these cities on the 10th of October with deliveries set to commence in the second week of December. Bookings will start in other cities across the country in December.
Hero Vida V1 Plus & V1 Pro Specs, Battery Packs and Range
The battery pack on the Hero Vida V1 Plus delivers a range of 143 kilometres on a single charge in ideal conditions. The Vida V1 Pro, on the other hand, offers a range of 165 kilometres on a single charge.
Speaking of charging both the V1 Plus and V1 Pro offer fast charging speeds of 1.2km/min and owners can also remove the battery packs and charge them at their own convenience. Both the V1 Plus and V1 Pro from Vida feature a limp home mode for when battery levels are critically low. In limp mode, the top speed is limited to just 10km/h which allows the electric scooters to travel for another 8 kilometers.
Hero claims that both the Vida V1 Plus and V1 Pro will hit a top speed of 80km/h. The V1 Pro is the quicker of the two scooters off the line going from 0-40km/h in just 3.2 seconds. The V1 Plus is two-tenths of a second slower to 40km/h, doing the sprint in 3.4 seconds. There are multiple riding modes including a 'Custom' mode that allows for over 100 combinations for the throttle, regen and more.
Both the Hero Vida V1 Plus and Pro models feature the same setup to take care of the rough stuff. This setup features telescopic forks at the front and mono-shock at the rear. Braking duties are handled by a disc brake at the front and a drum at the rear which are aided by the regen system.
Hero Vida V1 Plus & V1 Pro Design & Features
The Hero Vida V1's design is a mix of futuristic and retro themes. The front end is the futuristic side of the scooter and with its low mounted LED headlight and sharp, straight lines. The turn indicators are mounted above the handlebar, next to the small windscreen that protects the 7-inch touchscreen instrument panel.
The rear section of the Vida V1 scooter goes down the retro route with its curvy profile. Also seen is a split seat design. Other features on the Hero Vida V1 lineup include and SOS alert, keyless control, cruise control, on-site repair, two-way throttle and more.
Thoughts About The Hero Vida V1 Plus & V1 Pro
Hero Motocorp's Vida V1 lineup sees the nation's largest two-wheeler giant go down the premium route. If the Vida V1 lineup does live up to the hype, Hero will attract more customers away from new-age rivals like Ola and Ather.
