Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati has launched the Streetfighter V4 SP naked bike in India. The Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP is priced at Rs 34.99 Lakhs (ex-showroom, India) and bookings are now open at all of the Italian marque's dealerships across the country.
Speaking about the new Streetfighter V4 SP, Bipul Chandra, Managing Director of Ducati India, said, "The Streetfighter V4 SP takes the naked motorcycle game up a notch with its mad "Fight Formula" combined with the weight savings that come with the SP moniker. We're glad to be expanding the Streetfighter family in India with the all-new Streetfighter V4 SP that is the most exhilarating sport naked on sale in India today. It's one distinct machine thanks to the exclusive "Winter Test" livery and we're eagerly waiting to see how the Ducatisti in India make do with the full potential of this rare bike, out on the racetrack and beyond."
Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP Specs & Electronics
The Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP is powered by the marque's Desmodici Stradale, fuel-injected, liquid cooled, 4-valve per cylinder, 1,103cc, 90 degree V4 engine that features a rearward rotating crankshaft. The engine is fitted with the STM-EVO SBK slipper dry clutch, which Ducati claims guarantees a better anti-hopping function, even in the most aggressive downshifts, and greater fluidity during all "off-throttle" stages.
The Ducati Streetfighter V4's engine produces 205bhp at 13,000rpm and 123Nm of peak torque at 9,500rpm which is sent to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox with straight cut gears and Ducati's Quick Shift EVO 2 setup that allows for quick up and downshifts.
Ducati has equipped the Streetfighter V4 SP with fully adjustable Ohlins suspension at the front and the rear with Öhlins steering damper controlled by the second generation Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 system. The front end sports the Ohlins NIX-30 43mm USD forks while the rear sports the Ohlins TTX36 monoshock and a single sided aluminium swingarm.
Braking duties are carried out by twin 330mm disc semi-floating brakes at the front with radially mounted Brembo monobloc Stylema-R 4-piston callipers. The rear wheel is anchored by a 245mm disc brake with 2-piston callipers. The brakes are aided by a dual-channel cornering ABS from Bosch.
The Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP for India rides on 17-inch magnesium alloy wheels shod with Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa II tyres. Ducati claims that these Marchesini forged magnesium wheel shave off 0.9 kilogrammes when compared to the aluminium alloy wheels fitted to the Streetfighter V4 S.
The Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP comes packed with a host of electronic aids that help keep this naked racer on the track. These electronic aids include Ducati Traction Control Evo 2, Ducati Slide Control, Ducati Wheelie Control Evo, Ducati Power Launch, Engine Brake Control Evo and Ducati Electronic Suspension Evo.
Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP Design
The Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP features a host of carbon-fibre parts including the wings, front fender, clutch cover, and the heel guards for the aluminium footpegs. The single seater naked racer also features a brushed aluminium fuel tank.
The Streetfighter V4 SP sports Ducati's minimalist 'Winter test' livery inspired by the ones worn by Italian marque's MotoGP and WSBK race bikes during pre-season testing. The Bike is mostly black (along with the brushed aluminium tank) with bright red accents on the front fairing, tank and tail. The carbon fibre wings feature an Italian Tricolore colour scheme.
Thoughts On the Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP
The Streetfighter V4 SP is the most hardcore version of Ducati's Streetfighter lineup. This truly special sports naked bike comes packed with a host of electronics, a mad V4 engine and carbon fibre body panels that should test the skills of any Ducati Tifosi looking to take this beast to the track.
