Cyborg GT 120 Electric Sports Bike Revealed — 180km Range & 125Km/h Top Speed
Indian electric vehicle manufacturer Ignition Motocorp has revealed the Cyborg GT 120 electric sports bike. The new Cyborg GT 120 will be offered in two colour options — Black and Dark Purple.
Speaking about the new Cyborg GT 120, Raghav Kalra, Founder, Ignitron Motocorp Pvt. Ltd. said, "We are very excited to unveil our third electric motorbike in the electric mobility segment. After the successful launch of our bikes - Yoda & Bob-e, we are now entering the high-speed electric sports bike segment with GT 120. Apart from the stylish looks and top-notch features, we believe that our customers will be enthralled by the high-speed experience of the product, without compromising on their safety. With our complete range of products, we aim to cater to the vast needs of our enthusiast customers by providing an electrifying experience with uncompromised features and unmatched style. We believe our motorbikes will be a game-changer in the electric mobility segment."
The Cyborg GT 120 is the third motorcycle under the Cyborg brand from Ignition Motocorp. The Indian EV maker also sells the Yoda (a cruiser) and the Bob-e (an electric bike inspired by dirt bikes and targeted at a younger audience). However, unlike its older siblings, the new Cyborg GT 120 does not feature a removable battery pack which Ignition Motocorp claims is due to the size and weight of the unit fitted into its new sports bike.
The battery pack in question is a 4.68 kWh lithium-ion pack that is connected to a hub-mounted brushless DC motor on the new Cyborg GT 120. The DC motor on the new Cyborg sports bike produces 8.04bhp (6kW) which allows the GT 120 to sprint from 0-40km/h in just 2.5 seconds. The Cyborg GT 120 has a claimed top speed of 125km/h. The Cyborg GT 120 offers three riding modes ut of the box — Eco, Normal and Sport.
The 4.68kWh battery pack on the Cyborg GT 120 allows the electric sports bike to cover a claimed 180 kilometres on a single charge. Ignition Motocorp will offer the new Cyborg GT 120 with a 15 amp fast home charger. This charger allows the Cyborg GT 120's battery pack to go from 0-80 per cent charge in three hours. A full charge takes between four and five hours. The 72V battery pack along with the motor and the rest of the bike are covered under a 5-year warranty.
The new Cyborg GT 120 features a sporty design and the bike comes packed with a host of features. These include a LED touchscreen display with Bluetooth connectivity and IP65 dust and water resistance rating, USB charging, Geolocate/ Geo-Fencing, reverse mode, parking assist, and regenerative braking. The GT 120 sports telescopic front forks and a fully adjustable mono-shock at the rear to take care of the rough stuff. The new Cyborg GT 120 is 2,040mm long, 780mm wide and has a height of 970mm. The electric sports bike has a wheelbase that measures 1,240mm long and has a ground clearance of 260mm.
Thoughts On the Cyborg GT 120
The Cyborg GT 120 is the latest electric offering from Ignition Motocorp. Like its siblings, it targets a niche audience. With its feature set, the Cyborg GT 120 looks to be quite a good offering though we can only pass judgement once we ride it and get to know its price.
