The German motorcycle manufacturer has long been rumored to be working on its own version of the TVS Apache RR310. BMW Motorrad has now confirmed the existence of the bike with a post on its Instagram account and an email sent out to media houses confirming an upcoming launch.

The new BMW Motorrad G 310 RR (this name in not yet teaser video on the bike manufacturer's Instagram page shows off the tail section of the new bike. THe lighting pattern of the new BMW bike is identical to that of the TVS RR310. Also seen is the RR badge on what appears to be a polished metallic surface planted between the taillights.

In the background of the teaser video for the upcoming BMW Motorrad motorcycle we can see a set of handlebars and what appears to be the front visor section of the bike.

As stated earlier, the new BMW G 310 RR is expected to be the German motorcycle manufacturer's version of the TVS Apache RR310. The TVS RR310 and BMW's G 310 lineup use the same chassis and engine setup and the new G 310 RR is expected to do the same.

This means that the new BMW G 310 RR will draw power from a fuel-injected 312.2cc, single cylinder engine that pushes out 33.52bhp at 9,700rpm and 27.3Nm at 7,700rpm which is sent to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox.

The BMW G 310 RR will feature the same trellis frame and subframe setup as the ones found on all the bikes currently produced by the German marque's partnership with TVS. The BMW version the RR310 though could feature parts from the Apache RR310's Build to Order offerings including the fully adjustable upside down front forks and the rebound adjustable rear mono shock, which can be optioned on to the TVS bike. The braking setup is also expcted to be carried over wholesale from the RR310 and the other members of the BMW G 310 lineup.

Like the RR310 from the TVS Apache lineup, the BMW version of the bike is expected to feature four riding modes - Rain, Urban, Sport and Track. Whether BMW decides to rename these modes is still not known but we do not expect any change to occur. The G 310 RR is also expected to feature a TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and custom BMW Motorrad graphics.

The design of the BMW G 310 RR is also expected to be similar if not fully identical to the TVS Apache RR310. The bikes will atleast share their lighting setups, which was confirmed by the teaser video on the German marque's Instagram page showing off the rear lighting setup.

Thoughts On The BMW G 310 RR

The BMW G310 RR will be the final piece of the G 310 lineup when it arrives in India this July. While its arrival could cannibalise sales of the TVS Apache RR310, the BMW is expected to command a premium price tag like the rest of the G 310 lineup. We cannot wait to see and ride the new BMW when it arrives in July.
