Bajaj Triumph Motorcycle Spotted In India - Royal Enfield Himalayan, Yezdi Adventure Rival
The Bajaj Triumph motorcycle has been spotted for the first time in India. This new motorcycle has been developed by Triumph's R&D division in the United Kingdom, however, the production of this motorcycle will be handled by Bajaj. Though exact details about this new Bajaj-Triumph motorcycle are yet to be known, the UK-based two-wheeler manufacturer had previously stated that the motorcycle's engine capacity will be anywhere between 250cc to 650cc.
That being said, the upcoming Bajaj-Triumph motorcycle will sport a single-cylinder engine with liquid cooling. With this setup, we expect this motorcycle to come with an engine capacity anywhere between 300cc to 450cc.
Analysing the latest spy shots of the Bajaj-Triumph motorcycle, the model sports an adventure-ready theme with its dual-purpose tyres, knuckle guards and a small transparent windscreen above the headlamp.
In terms of design, the Bajaj-Triumph motorcycle sports a neo-retro theme with its 'tear-drop' shaped fuel tank with tank pads, triangular engine casing, round LED headlamps, LED turn indicators, rear-view mirrors and a minimalist tail section with LED tail lamps.
Apart from that, the spied Bajaj-Triumph motorcycle sports an all-black theme that looks quite sinister. Moreover, the black multi-spoke alloy wheels and a dual canister exhaust with a slotted heat shield make the motorcycle look even more aggressive.
It is also worth mentioning that the spied Bajaj-Triumph motorcycle comes with USD forks at the front and a monoshock suspension at the rear. Also, the spied motorcycle seems to sport an aluminium swingarm at the rear.
When launched, the scrambler version of the Bajaj-Triumph motorcycle will compete against motorcycles such as Royal Enfield Himalayan, Yezdi Adventure, Suzuki V-Storm SX, and a few more motorcycles in India.
Speaking about the segment, Royal Enfield has been dominating the 350cc, and above category for quite some time now. Moreover, the launch of the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 motorcycle has attracted a lot of younger demographic to the segment as well.
While Yezdi is the latest entrant into the segment, the sales figures are still way off the Royal Enfield. On the other hand, the launch of the Honda CB350 range of motorcycles in India has had a slight effect on Royal Enfield sales figures, especially in tier 1 cities.
As such, to conquer the 350cc segment in India, the Bajaj-Triumph motorcycle has to be priced aggressively. However, with Triumph also in the picture, this is unlikely and we expect this motorcycle to be a premium offering in the segment with prices ranging above the Rs 2.50 lakh mark.
Considering the price point, it would be interesting to see how the motorcycle will fare against its competition. However, the motorcycle will sport 'Triumph' badging, which will give the motorcycle a lot of brand value compared to its competitors and could attract many potential customers as well.
Thoughts About The New Bajaj-Triumph Motorcycle
The upcoming Bajaj-Triumph motorcycles are among the most-awaited motorcycles in the Indian two-wheeler market. We expect high chances for the motorcycle to become a hit among the Indian audience if Bajaj prices the motorcycle aggressively.
