Pune-based two-wheeler giant Bajaj has launched the Pulsar N160 in India. Prices for the Bajaj Pulsar N160 start at Rs 1.22 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Pune-based two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj has launched the Pulsar N160 in India. Prices for the Bajaj Pulsar N160 start at Rs 1,22,854 for the single-channel ABS variant. The Bajaj Pulsar N160 with dual-channel ABS is priced at Rs 1,27,853 (all prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Bajaj Pulsar N160 is powered by an oil-cooled 164.82cc engine that is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The Pulsar N160's engine produces 15.7bhp and 14.65Nm of peak torque. The Pulsar N160 produces 1bhp less than its predecessor, the NS160. Bajaj claims that the new Pulsar N160 is the fastest motorcycle in its segment in terms of passing acceleration in 3rd, 4th and 5th gears from 30-70km/h.

The suspension setup for the new Pulsar N160 consists of 37mm telescopic front forks and new nitrox monoshock rear suspension. Braking duties are carried out by a single 300mm disc at the the front and a 230mm disc at the rear. These brakes are aided by by either single or dual-channel ABS.

The new Pulsar N160 rides on new 17-inch alloy wheels that are shod with wider tyres compared to the ones fitted on the NS160. The new N160 Pulsar gets a 100/80-17 front tyre and a 130/70-70 R17 tyre at the rear that help provide better stability and control. The NS160 sported skinnier tyres - 90/90-17 at the front and 120/80-17 at the rear.

The new Bajaj N160 takes inspiration from its larger N250 sibling for its looks. In fact, the new N160 looks like a shrunken down version of the largest naked street fighter in the Pulsar lineup. Bajaj has played around with the paint job on the new bike which features a darker shade at the front which lightens as you move to the rear.

At the front, the Pulsar N160 features a single bi-functional LED projector headlight flanked at the top on each side by LED daytime running lights. Likes is larger sibling the N250, the new Pulsar N160 features extensions on the fuel tank along with an underbelly exhaust. At the rear, the crystalline LED taillights look like the ones on the largest naked version of the Pulsar.

The new Pulsar N160 also gets Bajaj's new infinity screen which a digital speedo and an analogue tachometre. The infinity screen also features a distance to empty readout and a gear indicator. Another new feature on the new Pulsar N160 is the USB charging port that ensures your phone never runs out of charge when you're on the move.

The single channel ABS version of the new Pulsar N160 is offered in three different colour ways - Caribbean Blue, Racing Red, and Techno Grey. The dual-channel ABS version of the new Pulsar N160 is only offered in one colour option - Brooklyn Black.

The all-new Pulsar N160 is the newest member of the Pulsar lineup and arrives due to rivals like the TVS Apache RTR 160 getting big updates which forced Bajaj's hand to push forth the newest naked Pulsar out at the earliest.
