Bajaj CT125X Spotted At Dealership - Rivals Honda Shine, Hero Super Splendor & More
The new Bajaj CT125X motorcycle has been spotted at a Bajaj dealership ahead of its launch. This motorcycle is the 125cc version of the Bajaj CT110X, and it offers a bit more power and features as well.
With the launch of the Bajaj CT125X motorcycle, Bajaj will be reintroducing a 125cc budget commuter under its product portfolio. While it may be surprising to many, Bajaj's product portfolio lacked a budget 125cc commuter for quite some time.
While many of you may picture the Bajaj Discover 125 or even XCD 125 motorcycles, these motorcycles have been discontinued. At present Bajaj's budget product portfolio consists of Platina 100, Platina 110, and CT110X. In addition to that, Bajaj also lacks petrol-powered scooters in its product lineup. As a result, Bajaj has witnessed a drop in overall sales.
Now with the launch of the Bajaj CT125X motorcycle, Bajaj can now compete in one of the most lucrative motorcycle segments, the Budget 125cc commuter segment. That being said, we expect the upcoming Bajaj CT125X motorcycle to compete against other 125cc commuter motorcycles such as Honda SP125, Honda Shine, Hero Glamour, Hero Super Splendor and a few more.
Visually, the Bajaj CT125X motorcycle looks very similar to the outgoing Bajaj CT110X motorcycle. However, there are a few changes on the upcoming Bajaj CT125X motorcycles such as the '125X' badging, slightly different graphics, ribbed seat and black kicker. In addition to that, the upcoming Bajaj CT125X also sports a type-A USB charging port - This is a pretty useful addition as well.
Apart from that, the Bajaj CT125X motorcycle comes with notable features such as a thoughtfully added luggage carrier above the exhaust to protect goods from burning, rubber grips on the side crash guard and handlebar, semi-knobby tyres on both front and back, fork gaiters, black engine guard and a rear grab rail with integrated luggage carrier.
In addition to all these, the upcoming Bajaj CT125X gets a Halogen headlamps setup with V-shaped LED DRLs, analogue instrument cluster and an all-black effect which makes the motorcycle look a bit more sporty as well.
We expect the upcoming Bajaj CT125X motorcycle to feature the same 125cc engine from the Bajaj Pulsar 125 and Bajaj Pulsar NS125 motorcycles. This engine produces 11.6bhp of peak power and 11Nm of peak torque. In addition to that, the upcoming Bajaj CT125X motorcycle is likely to come equipped with a 5-speed gearbox as well.
However, we expect the upcoming Bajaj CT125X motorcycle to use a retuned iteration of this 125cc engine with a bit less peak power and a bit better low-end torque. Such tuning will suit the character of the motorcycle and improve the fuel efficiency as well.
At present, the Bajaj CT110X motorcycle uses a 115cc, single-cylinder engine, and this powertrain produces 8.5bhp of peak power and 9.81Nm of peak torque. However, the CT110X uses a 4-speed gearbox. Prices for the Bajaj CT110X motorcycle starts from Rs 66,298 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
We expect Bajaj to price the upcoming BajajCT125X motorcycle at around Rs 75,000 mark and launch the motorcycle before the festive season.
Thoughts About Bajaj CT125X
The launch of the Bajaj CT125X motorcycle in the Indian two-wheeler market will give Bajaj a good chance to regain the 125cc budget commuter segment and increase its overall sales volume as well. Moreover, we expect deliveries of the Bajaj CT125XT to commence soon after the launch.
