2022 TVS Radeon Launched In India: Gets New Features Including LCD Screen & Real-Time Mileage
The 2022 TVS Radeon has been launched in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 59,925. Prices go up to Rs 71,966 for the top-spec DIGI Drum Dual-Tone variant. It is not just the prices that have been updated, but the motorcycle also gets new features including a segment-first multi-colour reverse LCD instrument cluster.
The TVS Radeon was first launched in 2018 as an entry-level commuter. It was the bare basic done right and was quite an entertaining motorcycle to ride. It has been in the market for a while now and is selling in decent numbers. TVS launched updates for the Radeon in 2019 and 2020 saw the launch of the BS6 Radeon.
Now, TVS Motor Company has once again updated the Radeon. This time, it gets a more comprehensive update with new features being added to the commuter motorcycle. The most prominent new addition comes in the form of a multi-colour negative LCD instrument cluster.
Until now, the TVS Radeon's instrument cluster was at its very best, basic. It did get an analogue speedometer, a fuel gauge, and a couple of tell-tale lights. It did get some chrome surrounds to make it feel more premium. Now though, TVS has increased the desirability factory by a large extent with the arrival of the new instrumentation.
TVS has also equipped the new instrument cluster with a real-time mileage indicator which is a segment-first feature. It will display the current fuel consumption of the motorcycle. There are several other features built into the new display including a clock, low battery indicator, service reminder, top speed record, and it even displays the average speed.
In terms of features, the TVS Radeon always been a segment leader. There is a USB port to juice up your smartphone, while the longest seat in the segment will keep the rider and pillion comfortable.
The TVS Radeon is powered by an air-cooled, 109.7cc, single-cylinder engine that puts out 8.28bhp at 7,000rpm and 8.7Nm at 5,000rpm. The motorcycle boasts an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of around 73km/l. With a 10-litre fuel tank, the TVS Radeon is capable of doing upto 600 kilometres on a tank full of petrol.
To increase fuel efficiency, the TVS Radeon features IntelliGO technology that switches the engine off when it is left idling for a longer duration. Starting the engine via the integrated starter generator is easy as the rider only needs to give some throttle input to get it going.
Thoughts On 2022 TVS Radeon Being Launched With New Segment-First Features
The TVS Radeon has always been a brilliant commuter and a great alternative to the Hero Splendor. Now, with the addition of the LCD instrumentation, there's even more incentive to put your money down on this motorcycle. If you are indeed looking for a commuter motorcycle, the TVS Radeon might just fit your bill.
